Team, I hope Hormazd reads this. I think its enough of talking about what cars are coming to India.. Its high time we make varied innovative content on road safety, improvement of roads, driving tips to be safe and watchful, lane discipline etc so that content from Autocar becomes more relevant and meaningful in today's times. Honestly, nothing changes if a Golf GTI or even a Supra is brought to India with the kind of road infrastructure and driving discipline that we have. We (Autocar) being in that position need to highlight these more. I wanted to highlight this since new cars and investments matter more to the larger economy than a average folk who is behind the wheel. The consumers of this content mostly aren't economic strategists who want to analyse business startegy and investments from automakers in India, but young folks who love getting behind the wheels and love the autocar brand. I feel we (Autocar) should give something meaningful in return for this love. Happy 25 and wishing Autocar more years of awesome content!!

25 years of running a business is a milestone. Congratulations to AutoCar India. This year award function too was a great one. One point which I would, I want AutoCar India to take up with Government of India(GoI) is in the Taxation for PV segment. More than 4 Metre has been taxed at 50% of the actual manufacturing cost of the vehicle. Does that mean GoI, wants all middle class Indians to buy only sub 4 metre vehicles? And only high cash flow personnel to buy big cars? (By paying 50+ % of Tax)...Please help in addressing this major issue with GoI from the AutoCar team.

Please make a full in depth video about Chinese EVs and how they're disrupting global legacy auto makers. China was the biggest market for VW, GM, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes etc and their profits in China have just crashed as they're unable to keep up with the stiff competetion from local Chinese EV brands. Same thing is going to happen in other markets which allow Chinese cars without prohibitive tarrifs.

The only thing that would keep me from a Ford Everest is that I’m done with diesels for life. If they could somehow create strong hybrid petrol offerings for these behemoth vehicles, at least as an option, that would be fantastic. Of course Ford doesn’t seem like it’s going in that direction anytime soon unfortunately.

Function is more important than form and a good and a balanced combination of both is the best. The point where function is more important than form is seen clearly in the success of Skoda Yeti and Kia Soul, the two ugly ducklings! And why good form with bad function looses out is seen in Toyota CHR, with fantastic modern form but a terrible cramped back seat with small windows, dark interior, non existent back view, bad road noise isolation, that even the Toyota badge does not redeem. My advice to all car companies is to get the function right first and then work on the form and not the other way around. Swedes have known that for years whether it is in their cars or furniture or even in their cheap Ikea book shelves.

Tesla EV is now a past tense. It has been superseeded and defeated by many new EV manufacturers, not just in the Indian sense but even globally. Right now while in Norway, I can see more of other EVs on the road than Tesla, including the European and Chinese EVs. A few years ago, on the same roads there were more Teslas than others but within three years, it has all changed. Remember Norway is a rich country with good finances, a very good infrastructure for charging EVs, and a very genorous tax benefits on EVs (EVs are cheaper than petrol cars here) and if they have decided to ditch Tesla then you can imagine what other countries will do. The advantage that Tesla had a few years ago is slowly eroding away and the performance and speed advantage may be the only one left because reliable it certainly is not. There will come a time when you two will be having a podcast on the downfall of Tesla, I guaratee you that! Even my son is thinking of ditching his Tesla to buy a bigger and a more practical EV since they have just had a little baby. He is not considering Tesla in spite of the recent price reductions here. There are just too many choices to play with here.
