Those plastic rivets at 1:20 can be removed by just pushing the pins through, I used a very small allen for instance. To reinstall them just push the rivet in first, and then press in that pin. Thanks for this video, I followed it and fixed a slow leak on my 5 series.

In my case, similar to the case in this video, those are aluminum rivets, not plastic ones with a stopper in the middle. I guess I will have to file them off or drill them open. F10 520D.

I had the same issue in my 2018 X1. Put RainX and Shop Pro from AutoZone and they both leaked out in less than 24 hours. I lived with no washer fluid for a couple of months and came across a post on some BMW forum where the guy said it stopped leaking when he put BMW washer fluid. So I decided to try it and like magic it stopped leaking. The only explanation I have is that the BMW windshield fluid comes as a concentrate. Maybe their water to concentrate ratio makes it thicker? Perhaps? I don't know but I'm sure glad I didn't spend time and money on trying to fix it. It's been a week and I don't see it leaking. I will update this post if it starts leaking again. Worth a try. It was a $6 fix

Do you remember what the thickness of the new o-ring was?

I pushed the center pin on the rivets in, but they can get lost in the fender well so would be good to buy some backups. Also, I put a small amount of vaseline on the o-ring to help it seat and seal. Finally, I put zip ties on the filler neck opening (between the reservoir and fill neck) to "clamp" it tight on to the o-ring. The plastic can fatigue and stretch a little. Not sure how much it helps but it is extra peace of mind.

I would guess that a BMW uses metric dimensioned O-rings vs. imperial sized O-rings -

Hey, I have the same washer fluid leak, could you give me the exact dimensions? I am from Europe, I understand that 1inch = 25mm? Which CS or OD dimensions i need?
