The Suzuki Jimny has long been a 3 door, or rather, a bit of a practical compromise. When the 5 Door version was announced, people who were on the fence about buying a Jimny now had more incentive to take the leap, but is it worth the price? The possibility of bringing more people along for the fun-comfortably-is quite a big deal for many Philippine buyers, and apparently, the rest of the world. It’s better to put in this way except Suzuki every car maker like Mitsubishi Motero / pajero 3 door , Toyota lc 3 door kei 4x4 Killed this segment the fact only Jimny is making to this day is great i wish more companies start making mini 4x4 and good thing is toyota is also planning mini Fj cruiser at similar dimensions of 5 door Jimny which will bring back the segment

Driven 4500 km in 15 days.. Ready for 1st service.. Stg 1 upgraded. Pros : only 1...its boy toy.. Mods and decorations enjoyable to add.. Super customizable.. Sourcing it online and waiting for it to deliver and DIYs is fun.. Cos: Slow. Not for long drives. Wind drafts shakes car bad.. Risky Noisy cabin. Steering play is horrible. I always wanted a Jimny when I was living in the US. Unfortunately, couldn’t get one brand new in the US auto market. Moved to the Phils 5 yrs ago and been on the fence of getting a 3 door. When the 5 door got released in the Phils, I pulled the trigger. I’m glad I waited. I absolutely LOVE my 5 door AT Artic White Pearl Jimny. As always… Great review.

been a fan for a long time and as always very reliable car review, however for a just small suggestion, for car space at the back, might as well use maleta or luggage rather than balik bayan boxes, nowadays everyone travels with luggage and balik bayan boxes are always delivered by covered van/trucks by freight companies to its final destinations.

The 5 door loses a little in ramp over angle but gains stability on corrugated roads owing to its longer wheel base. Can't begin to tell you how skittish the 3 door is on corrugated dirt roads at speed.

Don't know about turbo but supercharger yes. I have a supercharger on mine the numbers are increased up to 210nm and 160bhp.

Medyo tumataas na nga lang yung price at ₱1.7M. At that price parang mapapaisip ka kung worth it ba. Dapat ₱1.5M siguro ito, maximum, lalo na't ang budget meal ng cabin: lots of hard plastics, no center compartment, no second-row aircon, no leather seats, etc. Mahina rin engine. Hirap umakyat yan kahit na 4x4.

An alternative I'm personally considering is the Mazda CX-5 AWD with it's off road traction assist. Put some all terrain tyres on it and an HRG 1.5 inch lift on and it would get pretty damn close to a jimny I'd say. The advantage with this setup is more power, higher ground clearance at 230mm+, better technology, better NVH, and better comfort overall.

i saw it yesterday, and was able to sit inside. Omg it is so so beautiful. If only it had more power to match the looks, and for this price you can already buy a Hilux. Good looking but not practical at all. If it was around 1.2M I would pull the trigger though. I'll just wait for the Toyota Mini Fj cruiser and see if Suzuki will make some adjustments.

The Jiimny is a great offroader and it fits the bill nicely. However if you want to do the whole 4x4 thing cheaper, then your best bet is the top spec GWM Cannon at 1.5mil. Yeah the 5 door is pricey to the point where if you really want one thats what youre going to pay. The closest thing in terms of body style and capability is a GWM(again)Tank but thats over 2mil(because it has the urbo people feel the Jimny needs and way more tech even for the offroad bits)if you think about it what way the Jimny is a bargain. Of course if you look at the usual suspects, yes you can get them cheaper but theyre the 4x2 which isnt a fair comparison to this.

People who love the Jimny do so because it is small, extremely durable, nimble, economical and simple. It doesn't have a million useless electronic gizmos to go wrong. There isn't anything else in that class. The Tank 300 for example is more for people who want a full size 4x4 but can't afford one.
