This is just the sort of vehicle that is needed in the Philippines! With so little infrastructure for pure electric vehicles, it makes sense to have one that simply uses an ICE to power up the batteries, and therefore eliminate the problem of range anxiety! @@josephcadiao5751 you own hybrid yet? Wait till it costs you silly when you need to replace the battery, after the warranty expires. My camry costs almost $4000 to replace with labor and taxes ICE transmission? That's what people say when they too lazy and cheap to have transmission serviced regularly. With ICE, the money you save for 5 years is real. With hybrid, the fuel money saving is actually used to replace the battery after 5 years. On top of that, you still have to do regulars: oil, filter, radiator, belt, etc. Going EV is more logical, hybrid not

I tried a few days ago and would like to share my experiences about it. (deep breaths, medyo mahaba to) 1. The instantaneous torque is REALLY INSTANT. Nakakatuwa talaga idrive. I do always drive economically pero I never had this much fun sa pagddrive 2. When the engine is off, the cabin feels different as we're used to the car having some shake when moving and the absence of the engine noise on low speed acceleration is a game changer (NVH can still be improved though) When the engine turns on, YOU WILL KNOW IT kasi may jerky feeling (hindi super but similar with the jerkiness when a car starts). 3. I wasn't able to get the fuel efficiency as I am not sure why they disabled the fuel efficiency monitor in the car through software. All I see is 10km/L and never changes. IT SHOULD CHANGE! Optimistic ako dito kasi alam ko na city dweller talaga ang mga ganitong klaseng sasakyan so if I'm buying the car for the fuel efficiency, is it not ok to know this? (sa ibang car reviews ng nissan they hide this thing. and I even saw one reviewer (sa ibang car naman ito pero same brand) na mayroon pang tape sa ibabaw nun. Why? ) 4. The Autohold works like as if you are engaging the EPB manually. There is a slight delay between (maybe 2 seconds) between the car halting to zero and engaging the EPB. Our car engages it INSTANTLY but this car doesn't. Same goes with the disengaging of the autohold. when you tap on the gas pedal it waits for around 2 seconds (kasi nga para kang nag press down ng EPB which really has a delay kasi EPB lang ata ang gamit nito sa autohold, hindi yung pagmaintain ng brake pressure.) I am not sure if on other cars, autohold works like this? or it works like our car? (ito yung parang pinaka ayaw ko dito) 5. Steering weight is light. nice for many newbies 6. 360 camera is passable. I think Coolray has a better image quality for the 360 camera. 7. Sarap upuan nung zero gravity seats. 8. On direct sun, you might want to use a tint. kasi walang air vent sa likod. Nainitan mga kasama ko. (puno to ah) (people say nissan has cold AC?) pero to be fair, hindi rin ako sure kung dahil hindi namin minax yung aircon or what. On our car, naka 25c ang setting namin sa AC pero comfortable naman yung peeps. 9. One pedal driving will reduce your brake pads wear by a LOT. especially kung naka sport mode ka. on other modes, less aggressive sya. 10. Regenerative braking is going to give you free ride but by how much? I do not know yet because I only had a brief moment with the car. Addendum: Despite the pros and cons, should we still consider it? YES. it is still on our short list of items but we just want to test the fuel efficiency numbers as that usually happens on standardized test, not on actual roads and actual use case and our driving habits. EDIT: added addendum and other points.

I think the most important question here is how long before we see any battery charge deterioration and if needed how much will it cost to have the battery replaced? Since the car basically runs on an electric motor, is it safe to assume that if the battery no longer charges or deteriorates to the point that range is affected, the car no longer runs even with an internal combustion engine found under the hood.

Since the car is driven solely by the electric motor and the battery and with a small lithium battery on board (i dont know how small but i thought i read in some non-PH post that it is less than 5kwh, can anyone confirm?), i see 3 concerns 1) The inverter/charger is stressed more vs the typical hybrid system (ICE + E-motor). What is the warranty of the inverter/charger? To add this also drives the AC and other electronics. 2) The small battery is cycled many times a day (more than a smartphone) so the life of the lithium battery is much shorter than a smartphone 3) The original Chevy Volt was using this type of hybrid and they did not continue, i am curious as to why and why Toyota still preferred the Prius type

@VeeVeerawat2 жыл бұрын
1. Normally it never fully charge the battery. It's kind of 'top up' the battery while being used by the electric motor. The engine turns on and off every now and then just like any hybrid car. 2. It has a tiny 2KWh battery which in EV mode can go about 3.5 KM before the engine turn on. This is a 'series hybrid' car and not EV like what Nissan marketing wants you to believe.
@loydireyes50542 жыл бұрын
@@VeeVeerawat ok lets assume that the range is 3.5km, what if the battery is still at max charge (80% up), then the vehicle begins to start the 3.5km journey in EV mode. I wonder what the battery price would be. I think that's the #3 gating factor why owners don't just buy an EV because some of the prices may "Kick" to around 50K pesos to over 400K pesos for an EV, sure the battery may last 7-10 years to some, but it still a cost of a motorbike (or pre-owned car) that could due in after 10years of use.

Good review. Question on economy. What is the gas tank size? What range can you expect to get per tank of gas? Size of the battery? Thx
@GreggTrinidad2 жыл бұрын
Dear Caco, one query, I think your consumption with the e power system is simply your liter cost/kw then kw cost/km. Basically, the ICE serves as a genset for the batteries and genset production usually cost a lot more than Meralco. It would have been better and more economical to have added a plug-in option. For its real mileage, by just computing the tank cost per trip will not be accurate as you have to get the initial cost of the battery charge in liter cost/kw plus the tank cost considering also the cost of the residual charge in the battery after the trip. In my experience, gensets are not efficient. just my two cents to be more accurate in cost per kilometer of this system... :)
@krishjasonramos16172 жыл бұрын
Does not make economic sense to add a plugin due to the small battery. Battery size is only 2.13kwh and a max charge(i think 80% - reduced to extend life of battery) can go for an approxiamte distance of 3.5km. so unless the car has a bigger battery, plugins are out. In the same essence, getting fuel economy the way caco and team did is a bit accurate, ther were probably only missing out in computing that extra 3.5km
@Mhike177 Жыл бұрын
The idea on this is zero range anxiety. You do know the power plant that helps power up your car are also generated by petrol right? Just cuz you don’t see it during the drive, you will see it on your electric bill or maybe credit card when charging somewhere else away from home. Why not cut the middle man and not worry about hoping that there will be a plug somewhere along the way in long distance driving? Which EVs can’t really do in places without the charging infrastructure. Not to mention there is no need to wait and waste time while charging a vehicle. As soon as you refill, you’re ready to go like always. The pros on this Nissan car definitely outweighs the cons since it solves all the EV problems, which perhaps is the biggest factor why many don’t want to go EV other than the price.
