Once you guys have a unit for an actual full review, you should see if the sluggish transmission will be a liability in making 3/5/7 point turns. That's one scenario where you would want the vehicle to shift to drive and reverse in a brisk manner.

I am a happy owner of the MG HS Exclusive. The Quality, Convenience, Practicality, Fuel Economy, Price, Performance and Comfort is second to none. It's not a luxury car like the Mercedez, Audi, Volkswagen and BMW. Honest opinion, If you're a bachelor this car is not for you but If you are a family man like me, it feels like home.

I think that delay that you are pointing out sir is intended for safety feature that it won't go ahead as you change your gears, it will give you time to adapt in control that you are going to use.

@5:27 the tail lights looks like the same with the BMW X5.. @5:44 he mentioned "roughly 160 liters of space that's obviously with the second row kept up" but according to MG Philippines and on their brochure, the MG HS has 463 liters of space with the second row up and 1287 liters when the second row folded down.. did Sir Caco mixed up the cargo capacity of the HS and the ZS???

That's normal for dual clutch transmission. Bring it out to the expressway. That is where you can really appreciate its smooth shifting.

Yes dct shines in expressway...but this is same DCT like the coolray but different tech...but coolray shift faster response when you go to parking area it can shift forward and backward like a normal manual transmission...i dont see any delay for shifting...but this tranny on HS have a little bit lag on shifting on drive & reverse...

They should’ve put the MGPilot system to differentiate itself bigtime from the ZST. It just seems like it is a bigger ZST with an even more refined and premium interior. And a new model is already revealed so PH market is late again.

that sure is high for 170-173mm ground clearance. i'm about 2mins away in satisfying my curiosity and compare it to mg GCR. I always thought, mine was too low to be claimed as 196mm ground clearance. i probly would be taking a tape measure with me when i go out

My dad sat in MG ZST driver's and backsea.he then discourage me from buying it because it was really small for big people like us. MG was crossed out in my list so I considered tiggo 7 pro and Avanza G 2022. I went for the former as it was kinda love at first sight. Seeing this MG HS, made me say, "hmmm... tch, damn."

Almost looked like a mazda, don't you think? Slap some gray on it, simplify that fog lamp and housing, and it's almost kodo, right? Almost, but I digress... That transmission delay is a bigger issue than you think. For example, you need to reverse from a stand still because the vehicle in front is sliding down (on an awkward slope maybe), then that delay might cause you an accident. Some rare evasive manuevers are required in certain situations.

I think the "delay" is after you have shifted the gear in reverse/drive not in the actual engagement. I have an MG5 and I am experiencing the same that when I shift the gear to reverse, it took a second or less than two to actually engage the reverse gear so whenever I use the reverse in high hills, I normally waits for reverse gear to be engaged first so that the car will not move in gravitational angle.

@@melvinrimorin7840 It's quite noticeable when you are an experienced driver. Btw I am a noobie driver (7months old driver) hehe. As for my experience, I'm kind of used to deal with it. The only noticeable in my unit is the acceleration delay when u press the pedal immediately from a full stop. Nonetheless its quite a good car (1yr old @10.8k ODO).

The only thing out of place on this vehicle for me are the bucket seats. The openings or holes on those seats are meant for three point racing harnesses which this vehicle clearly doesn't need. I wonder why they chose those.
