Your videos are always very good, and you learn something of it. And not like the thousand KZbin that always show the same thing. Thanks

I have successfully also used a variable fillet to create the two lines and then used them as paths for a sweep with a triangle cutting shape or a simple cut if its straight. In this case i would try doing that but only use one half of the fillet while the second one would be the flat line. Your solution is probably better and more controllable.

A variable fillet sounds like an interesting idea. The chamfer does in some way look like a variable fillet but with sharp edges. Will give this a try. Thanks for the suggestion.

You have done well grasshopper. No really, I have learned much from you and a few others as of late, and as I was listening to you describe the challenge while doing my dishes, I was imagining the same exact approach. It was a self affirming moment :) Dishes are a great time for inspiration if done to high fidelity music that is current jam. Sorry I'm broke this week. Too many upgrades on my mill. Cheeers!

Thanks for the video! I acknowledge the name of your channel, however, it would be nice to see other CAD software on this channel. As a hobbyist, I use 3 different CAD programs, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is CAD software agnostic. Would be great to see some videos with Onshape. It would also help bring news eyes, grow the channel. As the best!😃

I have had some thoughts on this. It's not just the channel name. I'm sure a significant number of subscribers who subscribe to this channel only use Fusion. Looking at other channels which do mixed content, I find that the views can be spread quite thin. If I ever explore another piece of software, I will most likely create another channel. I am still trying find a good candidate. Something that has a big user base and which I can afford. I hear a lot about Onshape. Maybe one to consider.

@@Fusion360School Well I don't see how things have to change for your existing F360 subscribers, you'd just be putting out CADX content as well. In any case, not trying to pressure you into anything, just providing honest feedback as someone who is a careful observer of KZbin creators. All the best!

@@Fusion360School Maybe, but you are correct. I subscribe only for Fusion. Nothing else has the depth of user base or machine support. Every year I look at the other options and just shrug and continue happily using Fusion for CAD/CAM/POST. It models very well and will run every machine I have and every machine I may get. It doesn't look like anyone is going to beat them at their own game at least not in the next couple of years.

3D sketching can add some serious complexity, but it's very powerful! Hard to make compound curves as quickly with other methods. At least for a relative novice like me.

Thank you again! How do you then create the solid body?
@Fusion360School
@Fusion360School 5 ай бұрын
You can create more patch faces to create a watertight box to stitch into a solid. Another way is to solid extrude the overall shape up to the surface body.

Thanks, I had to extrude the projection of each surface separately but it worked. Keep the videos coming 👍

As always, terrific and useful content. One piece of constructive feedback: the black background is a departure from your familiar, clean look. Because the finished product at the beginning of the video was a black laptop cover, I found the new background color confusing-wasn’t sure if it had a purpose, and found it more difficult to see what you were doing in your sketches.
@Fusion360School
@Fusion360School 4 ай бұрын
I realise that the colour difference might be a bit jarring. Sorry for that. I wanted a colour where I can show a nice transition in the render workspace and found black to be the best. As for the dark background, it is mainly for my benefit. The white workspace is quite straining on the eyes. I am aware that it is not the best background for showing sketches. I will definitely take note of this in future videos.

lovely video as always, but i would like to note that the pauses between steps were kind of a bit too much here. i prefer your videos heavily over other creators as they are quick and concise with no stretches of downtime or "filler" time. if this is just how it came out, no problem, but if this is an intentional choice that may stick around in future videos i would kindly ask you to reconsider. once again, thanks so much for all of your fantastic videos, they have become invaluable to me in learning CAD.

Upon rewatching, I did find the pauses a bit too long. I do agree that the edit should have been tighter. The editing process can be fatiguing at times. When tired, it can be hard to get a good sense of the passage of time. Will take note of this in future videos. Thanks for the compliments.

@@Fusion360SchoolUsually, I want fast content, however, these videos are well paced, and somehow soothing. Don't change a thing, or your channel will not be discernable from other channels❗

Thanks. Never thought that my videos can be soothing! I am not looking to change the overall pace. I will just try to make sure that there is not too much of a lull between actions.
@advil000
@advil000 4 ай бұрын
I thought so at first, but any time you are showing anything to do with 3d sketches combined with lofting... the pause is helpful. Or perhaps not so much the pause as rotating the camera around as you did to show what the heck is going on. That's a tricky series of steps to visualize. Appreciate the tutorial by the way. Thank you.
