"[...] EAGLE users switching to Fusion Electronics will notice some key differences: Many of the tools with icons in EAGLE are replaced with a different interface." - Well, I do hope so!! I used Eagle already some years ago before Autodesk bought it and really appreciated the new looks you gave it. But when it comes down to usability, Eagle's interface still feels like it comes straight from the nineties. So much clicking and mouse travelling, making work very cumbersome. Then recently I started using Fusion360, as I'm a bit into 3D-printing lately and was absolutely amazed by the well designed UI. @@retronexusio yes, it is downloaded automaticly and after a restart of Fusion360 you will be able to create a new pcb just like you would create a new construction. I also use the Education license

I think we forgot or had an issue with the usual banner which gets shown after an update. Anyway, if you restart you should see the new capabilities, but they're easy to overlook.

Are you unsatisfied with Fusion? Why? What can we do better? Not sure if this is just a translation issue or if you're having real issues with the software.

Ah, so far, definitely satisfied with this software, though I intended to make that comment as emphasis to the fact that I am starting this new journey of knowledge about industrial design...

Do you mean because MCAD folk can make changes? If that's the worry, always know that version control can bail you out, and I'm sure there are ways you can lock them out of making changes (export PCB 3d with the link to PCB broken)?

Isn't it free for personal users? www.autodesk.com/campaigns/fusion-360-for-hobbyists Are you aware of this?
@atrtsh5 жыл бұрын
@@adskFusion Home != Hobbyist != Non-commercial unfortunately. The previous license you had based on business income was exactly the right way to go, to name a few points, it lets businesses start, designers self-train, non-profit organisations benefit, including hackspaces (a major point itself; at mine I've gotten basically everyone hooked on fusion), and cost/risk free testing of fusion, all of which lead to later product uptake where demand would not have otherwise existed. Obviously you couldn't police business income, which I appreciate the suits would dislike when they run 'lost income' projections based on statistics instead of reality, but nor can you police hobbyist self declaration. Ultimately if people want to 'steal' fusion (or inventor etc) they will, by putting a barrier up you have actually scored a monumental own goal, with significant but delayed effects on your market penetration and 'user evangelism'. That goes back to hackspaces a bit actually, as now some people have to use alternatives for certain projects which have compensated aspects, say a prop commission, and that's sending them questing for other products and workflows. Then the next question they hit as they naturally grow that aspect of their hackery is do they maintain two skill sets, or just use the open source stuff etc? Whereas with a sane business income threshold, that question never occurs until they're utterly invested and familiar with Fusion and deeply unlikely to change workflows. If they're lucky enough to grow a serious business out of it, they and their employees would naturally maintain that use of fusion & far more likely to then add in other Autodesk products, especially as I expect fusion will only integrate more as time goes on.

Will Fusion 360 web version be improved, also?
@adskFusion5 жыл бұрын
At this time I don't think that's a priority for the development team, unfortunately.
