Awesome! Did this today after watching your video. Even with a completely stock exhaust the difference is easily heard. Sounds much better at idle.

That's good feedback! Isn't it so much better? Revs sound much better too since they are open the whole time and not just when you hit the gas.

Were those zip ties plastic? On a hot exhaust .brilliant
@med5.2s83 жыл бұрын
this part of the exhaust on the S8 heats up very little, when you look closely at this section is not in the same line so little heat, moreover the high pressure cables which control the valves are right here also so that is why it uses plastic.

You my friend earned yourself another subscriber. S8 is in my plans for the next year so this is god damn usefull. Brilliant mod.

Resonators gone and butterfly zipped sounds AWESOME!!

Agreed!!

Should have used wire, an old metal clothes hanger even. Zip ties are great, but not with repeated heat cycles.
@AutoDetour6 жыл бұрын
True, but replaced very easily.

Awesome! Was just trying to figure out how to do this! Does this do any damage to the actuator or throw and error code in the long run?

Nice believe it or not I brought a audi s8 2008. The previous owner put a magnaflow exhaust. American exhaust people loved.
@davidpaul29146 жыл бұрын
Thanks Ryan, can I ask how miles has your car done? My first S8 I removed the resonators and it sounded great I never did the butterfly mod, my second S8 had the miltek exhaust and that sounded awesome. I'm looking for another S8 in the cheaper end to have another play. So see how we go. Cheers Dave

My S8 has 82,000 miles on it. I would love to hear the Miltek exhaust in person!

I just did it to mine and it sounds amazing with two resonators removed, could this cause any issues in the long run?

No

Which resonators did you remove?

Ok i have a s6 v10 its louder on start up but the exhaust has no flapps on s6 so whats the deal spmeone said its in the airbox it has flapps.

Hi :) What are your recomendations for exhaust for s8 if you want agressive sound?
@Skeppyberry Жыл бұрын
My plan is to remove the resonators but leave the valves in. I like the idea of a really quite comfortable car that becomes a demon when you put your foot down. Also I live in a very quiet sleepy neighborhood lol.

I imagine though zip ties didn't last very long with that exhaust heat
@AutoDetour3 жыл бұрын
I had them on for a couple years like that. The actuator doesn’t get hot enough to melt them.

No, unfortunately you have the single exhaust tips on each side, so no butterfly valves

It's not a Lamborghini V10... Not trying to be that guy, but seriously, it's not. It only shares a block with the Lambo V10.
@RockNRolla-gv2jg5 жыл бұрын
How do you know? I mean by every research I made it says it has the same v10 as in the Lamborghini so you got me curious now and I always like to learn more of what Im interested in so any explanation on your comment would help allot. Thanks in advance :)

The 5.2 V10 used in the S6 and S8 is different in several important aspects, namely a less robust crankshaft with a split pin design, cast aluminum pistons, and a traditional wet-sump oiling system, as well as differences in the valvetrain - all of which, combined, result in the much higher RPM red line and specific power output of the Gallardo and R8. Compared with the related 5.0-litre V10 found in the Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi's variant has a longer stroke and wider bore which increases the displacement of the engine so that it produces more torque at lower revs and is thus more suitable for the larger and heavier S6/S8 models. The Audi models used the Bosch Motronic MED 9.1 electronic engine control unit (ECU) and was FSI. The 5.0 Gallardo used two Lamborghini LIE electronic engine control unit (ECUs) working on the 'master and slave' concept due to the high revving nature of the engine. The later 5.2 Lamborghini Gallardo V10 is mechanically identical to the Audi 5.2 V10 engine, as is evident by Lamborghini's usage of Audi's Fuel Stratified Injection, and 90 mm cylinder spacing. So, yes but no. Kinda. Lol

@@ryanpangle That's very informative - thank you for posting such an in depth explanation. I'm currently driving the 5.2 V10 S8 myself. After owning several "notable" V8's (AMG G-class, S550, BMW M sport, Audi A8 4.2L and more), I have to say that the V10 S8 is a whole other experience. Made me wonder how much of the Lamborghini story was true.

Bullshit it's the second gen lambo gallorado block only thing different is the intake do your research before you speak . God even Wikipedia has it listed lol
@RICHIE_RICH895 жыл бұрын
The lambo does use a more aggressive cam and map tune.
