What else you recommend changing if you still feel problems on the highway from a pot hole ?? 🕳️ already did motor mounts about to do full set of control arms …

Do you recommend replacing the control arms or just the bushings ?

Can I reuse the same Ball Joints by separating them from control Arms? Or is Replacing them as well a Must? Great Vid by the Way!!
@autodocuk3 жыл бұрын
Yes, if they are in good condition then you can.

Copper slip and aluminium don’t mix… can cause galling and corrosion. Use nickel or aluminium anti seizure paste designed specifically for this.

Yes, copper grease can react chemically with an aluminum wheel. Therefore, if copper grease is used on aluminum surfaces, it is necessary to monitor operating conditions and regularly check the condition of parts to avoid undesirable consequences. More precisely, what lubricant is recommended to use should be found in the technical documentation for repairing your car.

removing the bolt from the front most lower control arm is easier if you turn the steering wheel all the to the left (or right for the other side) so the inner tie rod boot is fully compressed.

Thank you for your valuable recommendation, we will definitely take it into account when shooting new videos and further replacements of these parts.

what's the socket called for prising apart the ball joint socket to allow it to slip in?
@daze023 Жыл бұрын
No help here, but I once had a couple of nice slotted screwdriver tips set into 3/8" drive sockets that would just do. Maybe a square shafted screw driver with a vice grip plier?

Nice... replacing that joint with the wrong tourqe specifications. And you install it on the right NM before you put it back. And all that copper grease? Why? It doesn't stay on it had bad water resistance... use Loctite 8060 for aluminum applications.

I think it's bad to spray copper grease on rubber gaiters of balljoints, tie rod ends, bushings, etc. The rubber will start cracking because of the grease, the repair won't last a long time. Silicon grease would be better cuz it doesnt hurt the rubber. But other than that, great video.
@autodocuk4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment! Rubber on anthers is oil-benzo resistant, so there will be no harm from copper grease. Best Regards, Autodoc team
