I believe you misunderstood the "174 " )or shaver the exact number was) and how it applies. While the number relates to cubic inches its how much air the blower pushes through per rotation. So in our case about 174 inches per rev of the blower which turns at some multiple (overdriven) of engine speed. Thus if your blower turns at twice engine speed it will push more air than the engine displaces causing pressure to build up in the plenum... like putting water into a leaky bucket ... if you put more in than can flow out the level (pressure) will rise. And that's what you want. Atmospheric pressure is 14.7 psi so if you are putting 50 percent more air in than can get out the pressure of the air in the plenum should be about 18 -19 or 1,5 bar ... yielding a net increase of about .5 bar above atmospheric or as we say "7 pounds of boost" ... Want more boost? turn the blower faster with a smaller pull on the snout. Too much boost? use a larger pull on the blower. Pretty simple.

+Darrell Nunnelley That is a great hood on the 67...not one to be cut up. I measured today to check for you, and the top of the Wieand 174 supercharger and throttle body sit as high as the stock manifold with a stock air cleaner...so not enough room (I don't think). Give me another month or so to get this motor in my Mustang and I'll throw the hood on to see what the stock hood and this trick Holley low profile air cleaner I got look like.

@AutoEdits9 жыл бұрын
+Darrell Nunnelley I'm glad to hear that some of the parts choices on this project help. All of the stuff in my videos have been top quality parts...no bs. As for engine recommendation...this is the way I would go if I didn't have to spread what budget I have around so much: www.fordracingbyspeedshopdirect.com/FORD_RACING_BOSS_CRATE_ENGINE_ASSEMBLY_363_500HP_p/m-6007-z363ft.htm 500 Horsepower just like that! @darrellnunnelley44899 жыл бұрын

+marine50k Well, years ago an old timer told me to use sealant and it has just become habit at this point and to be honest, I don't remember why it was recommended. I have been using the "right stuff" on the last few installs with no issues. Any suggestions either way?
@homeonthewaves9 жыл бұрын
+autoedit thanks for explaining that one. I don't really have a technical reason for doubting the effectiveness of your choice, more of a gut call thinking that the sealant might not survive as many heating and cooling cycles compared to a gasket. That said, experience trumps gut, so I shall give it try sometime when I have the opportunity. I shall have to google the "right stuff" and find a UK equivalent product.

174 Hey funny how you added the ci of the blower and engine together, but the engine ci doesn't count anymore. Only blower volume feeds the engine , and since that is 4 stroke you double the Supercharger volume and then multiply with the pulleys ratio that looks like 1,8. Sooooo actual cubic inch is 174 x 2 x 1,8 and that's 626 Cubic.inches baby a looot. You must precicley measure the crank/blower pulley to get the exact ratio instead of my presumed 1,8
