Jason, when I installed my 37" Trail Grapplers several years ago I didn't balance them. They rode smoother than any tire I'd ever run on my Jeep before. One time when out in Mojave Cyn we started at Jaw Bone Cyn to Dove springs to a trail called Sherman Jeep Trail which took us into the Sequoias into Kern I can't remember after that was to long ago. The crazy thing was we drove off road all the way back to the valley with only one crossing over freeway one time. I think it was Pacomia cyn. Hey Jason! Your ram inspired me to pick up one of my own! Wanted to pick your brain. I know you're running 37s on an older 6speed transmission truck but I'm running an 18' with the 8 speed and 3.21 rear axle ratio. Because of some weird design piece by ZF in their transmission to front dif connections, you can't get aftermarket ratios put into ZF trans trucks like mine. That being said, do you think its a bad idea to throw on a set of the lightest 37s I can find to run on my rig even though it only has 3.21s? Would love your input if you have the time. Love the videos 👍

what about getting a set of the milestar like on the Jeep for the truck just to see how they would conpare from the Jeep to Ram Johnson or Nittos for the Jeep same comparison

Great suggestion! What I've learned so far is that the Milestar Patagonia MT's on the Jeep don't have the proper load rating for a half ton truck and towing/hauling duties. So, I would have to go down to 37" on or up to 40" to get that load rating... hmmm... now that's an idea!

All good dude, I learn stuff all the time from viewer comments so I'm open to most. Here's something that'll blow you away... look at the front body mount in that same shot in the upper right corner. Watch how much that thing moves. That is all within specification but mind boggling it moves that much.
@maverick275023 жыл бұрын
@@AutoEdits holy crap! that's somehow normal?! haha. Guess that's why a lot of people, myself included, like body on frame vehicles for towing. That has to provide a lot of vibration isolation, but man that looks crazy to see that much movement under off camber/flex

I've been following your channel for a wile now and really appreciate all the great info! Especially your ram truck. I would like to build a ram but not sure whats a better platform... a 1500 with the IFS? or a 2500 Hemi with the solid axles. Ive herd you mention the IFS being a bit of a scare for you at times, worrying about it, But I'm not sure if your upgrades made that stress go away??? I've always bounced back between a jeep jku and a ram 3500 cummins...but neither can do what I need, the Jeep Jku cant haul the family around comfortably, and the Diesel ram just weighs to much to take on serious trails... And I would Love a truck or vehicle that Can tow, haul, overland, and wheel, and be able to use it as a work truck. Could you recommend to me whats the best ram to start with in your opinon? Id like to keep costs down, so new power wagon is outta the question...would like to start with a 2014 and older and build from there. Much appreciated
@AutoEdits3 жыл бұрын
Most economical way in to the durability you want is the Ram 2500. There are many great companies that make all the suspension stuff you'll ever need for that platform as long as you stay in the 2014 range.

Im stuck between getting 39 inch km3s or the nittos in a 37. Bfg runs small so they’ll measure out roughly the same. What are your thoughts? I had km3s in a 37 and i loved them but I’ve heard these blow them out of the water Help me decide !🙏🏼
@AustinH73 жыл бұрын
KM3s are probably lighter. Usually BFG run lighter, which is good imo for a lot of different reasons such as MPG and it puts less strain on suspension components
@AutoEdits3 жыл бұрын
I would really like to try the KM3's in a 39" to get first hand experience but from what I've seen with people I've wheeled with... the KM3's rule in the rocks but are not very good in inclement weather like snow/ rain. So there's that compromise again. I haven't taken these in the rain yet so I'll let you know but from my experience so far with the Trail Grappler MT's... I'm fairly confident they will be awesome at all the stuff I need.

Not if you have a little lift. The front bumper might rub a bit as well but could be easily trimmed.
