The OAP MK2 Golf gets the Auto Finesse Detailing Treatment

We love a MK2 Golf there's no denying it, so when we got the call to help freshen up this fine specimen before the show season ahead we already knew it would be a good week.
The car was in relatively good shape to begin with, so really just a deep clean, decon and single-stage were in order to get it looking its best again. We also had a helping hand from our friends at The Dent Men, and Aarron wrangled a few little dings out that we knew polishing would highlight.

Never in my life had I seen a video on KZbin where the protagonist was a Golf Mk2 GL, it is the car that my father has owned for almost 20 years, it is the car in which I learned to drive, it is the car with which my love for Volkswagens was born, my father's car is a VW Golf Mk2 GL 1991 model with the same Sahara Metallic color, assembled in Mexico with German parts, when the parts had the Audi logo next to the VW, unfortunately my father's car doesn't look as good as this one but that doesn't mean it is not a beautiful car too, when my father dies in many more years, I am completely sure that this car will continue to be a part of my family for a long time. Seen it - its an interesting topic and one thats been discussed in detail many times by some very experienced detailers and product techs. It's a matter of two things in fact. 1: The product its self and how it's been designed to work and 2: Your personal working preference. Our product is designed to go on a pre rinsed vehicle, it dwells long enough and is concentrated enough to do its intended job that way. I personally (James) am a believer that I like to rinse first before theres any product on a vehicle to ensure I can see any larger contamination actually being removed, before we end up with foam and soap all over the place. There's not a black and white right and wrong answer to this, actually thats the case with alot of "hot detailing topics" you do what works for you. We just show you our methods and how we like to work.
