Very nice, truly inspiring. I bought a 1992 VW Vento a few months ago; still need to do this kind of work on it, but so far... The best car I ever had. A friend, professional car tuner, looked at it and said: "they don't make them like this anymore. " I needed a low electronics car for health reasons. The best part: they hardly rust in Portugal, so a 30 year old car just needs a bit of regular maintenance to look almost new.

Interior is in great condition as well. All this car needed was a bit of exterior detail TLC . It was definitely in exceptional condition based on its age before the detail

Not so cheap in the UK anymore but you are right they are cheaper because you have to pay export duty on cars to US so it makes it not worth the effort. Keep looking always a barn find somewhere.
