I've had mine for a couple of months by now here in Costa Rica and I love it. I might be biased because it really was the car of my dreams, but now that I've used it so much, I'm in love with it. I had a feeling it wouldn't do good in the Autobahn, but I mean the highest speed you can legally go in my country is 100kmh in some very short highway sections, so I don't really have to worry about it. You can't go 120kmh for more than 5 minutes or you'll crash into a mountain. The rest of the roads are terrible, and I do feel a big big difference between the Sport and Comfort suspension modes.

Indeed, this vehicle is set for a big overhaul by the end of this year or early next year. The EV version will employ motors with exceptionally high rotational speeds, coupled with higher voltage batteries and more efficient thermal management systems, all aimed at enhancing top speed and extending driving range. The PHEV variant, on the other hand, will utilize an upgraded version of the hybrid technology first seen in the Qin L model, achieving remarkable range capabilities. Both versions will feature distinct dedicated chassis, and in conjunction with BYD's recent advancements, they promise a significantly enhanced driving experience.

I think the rotating screen is ingenious! My Volvo's 9" portrait screen is okay for navigation but it's terrible for any entertainment while e.g. charging the car. I mean KZbin is bigger on most smartphones than on the center screen. I want this in my next car so I hope other manufacturers take an example and stop being so conservative and boring. I prefer a European car over a Chinese car but they really have to step it up if they want to keep competing.

Id happily take the softer suspension over high speed stability over 110 mph. Like people are judging this car because of that but the benefit is ride comfort. The stability was also better at motorway speeds around 60mph aswell, on a car like this, I think BYD made a good choice for choosing ride comfort and soft suspension over a firmer setup just to fulfil the needs of the small amount of people who use the autobahn or motoring journalists who prefer sports-car feel. Great video!

The difference between the Chinese subsidies and the European ones is that the subsidies are applied on production, whereas in Europe it is on sales, irregardless of where the cars are manufactured. So the Chinese and the Europeans who build their cars in China (like Audi, Tesla, Volvo and Polestar) get the subsidies twice! That is why the Germans are up in arms about the EU tarriffs. I support what EU is doing, BTW so that we get a level playing field.

@TL-xw6fh
@TL-xw6fh 7 күн бұрын
@@dzonikg Not strictly correct. China provides such subsidies for building the factories and R&D to the car manufactuers too. In addition, there are subsidies for EVERY car manufactured in China (not sales in China), hence all exports from China (including Tesla, Audi, Volvo, Polestar, Mini) qualify for the subsidies. That is the reason why the German car manufacturers are so worried as they will be badly impacted by the tarriffs. Essentially, producing the cars in China will qualify for double subsidies, hence the EU is correct in applying the tarriffs. The EU is demanding that China, at a minimum stops subsidising the exports to Europe.

All of you can say what you want but this is a good car. Stop saying that Tesla has better plastic, indicators, cameras... This company's orientation is to replace VW as a people's car. Zeekr is already above European companies. China has so many EV manufacturers you can't imagine. In China, Tesla is a joke car. We need to push harder and make at least the same lvl quality as China and of course the price is crucial. Who's gonna buy a BMW for 70k EUR when they can get something similar for 40k EUR.

I really want this facelifted BYD to do well in Europe, but compared to the Kia EV9, this Tang is: Too inefficient (108 kwh and less than 500 km range) Too heavy (2705 kg, heavier than the larger EV9) Too expensive (70k euro in Europe) Not spacious enough despite its size (4,87m) BYD should come with a dedicated 7 sitter EV. This facelifted Tang is just not good enough. The pre facelift version has already reduced it's price from 70k to 50k and still not selling well

@autogefuehl 5 күн бұрын
Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment. You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. The classic approach is using oil/plastic as source material. Overall, a vehicle contains about 300 kg plastic. A car seat needs about 5 kg plastic. So the overall plastic share for the seats is very low and it is at this moment the most efficient way to produce a car seat. A couple of litres of fuel equals a car seat basically. So if you want to save oil/plastic, rather look at consumption for energy, fuel and heating and to other car parts than the seat. Note that animal skin leather also always contains a plastic coating for durability. However, long-term we should of course find raw oil alternatives. So going further, seats can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even increased share of plant-based materials (like pine oil, canola oil or start-up materials like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum, so be seen at kzbin.info/www/bejne/iWLEf42bpMano6c). On a calculation base, by ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en) - and that is a very conservative calculation. So it is at this moment the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable. A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensafin: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6G1f56NbtOlqNk And the Kia EV9 with plant-based oil share: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bKe7loOHnsSAd80 New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect, even for cleaning: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2qXiouAbJeIiqM More and more natural materials are rising: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIO2pIt7o9x7etE Also check out what the animal skin leather industry tried to with our channel: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pIHCdKmCocZ5oqs For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpzNdHSjppaSbqc Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally. Also a group of researchers and German journalists from public media could recent directly trace the connection between car animal leather production and illegal burning down Amazon rain forest: www.daserste.de/information/reportage-dokumentation/ard-story/videos/illegales-leder-video-100.html In a high animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat is the "first" misuse case, the hide remains a profitable body part. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the primary use of individual body parts of mammals. Mind experiment: You are getting slain down on the street; would it matter to you if it was for your smartphone or for your purse? Remember that animal skin leather is no different to fur, fur is just leather where the hair is still on. And fur is widely not accepted for clothing anymore, and of course not for cars. We cannot change what we have bought in the past, but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.
