The only problem compared to the EV9 is that the big battery in this car won't be on sale this year and the EV9 is already on the road. So it's a bit odd to compare the price and real-world range of the Kia with the theoretical claims for this Peugeot.
@ferrariforever16 ай бұрын
The wltp range of both cars should be obtained using the exact same methodology, right? Then it doesn't matter whether a car has been on sale or not.
@Dqtube6 ай бұрын
@@ferrariforever1 No, WLTP test conditions can vary because there is no one central authority responsible for verifying these tests (such as the EPA in the US). Therefore, some car makers are cherry-picking a car configuration for the test that will not be on sale in all markets, or it will be a time-limited offer for only the initial few months of sales. So a majority of potential customers will not be able to buy it. In the case of this car, Peugeot is trying to sell that it will have the same consumption (15-16 kWh/100 km, a figure from independent tests) as their e3008, which is a smaller, lighter and more aerodynamic car.
6 ай бұрын
@@Dqtube well, no. 3008 has wltp of 720km, 5008 with same battery has 660km. In german price list you can find wltp consuption of 17,8-18,7kWh/100km
@Dqtube6 ай бұрын
Well... It's nice that you talk about WLTP, but when I wrote the original post there were already independent tests of the e3008 with a smaller battery and they had 15-16kWh/100km depending on driving style. Even if we wrongly assume that the e3008 version with the larger battery will have similar efficiency to the small one, the car will do about 650km in good weather, not 720km from WLTP. Don't you also see the paradox in your reaction? The larger battery has 98 kWh, but if you try the basic math (660/100)*17.8)=117.48 kWh and (660/100)*18.7=123.42 kWh or vice versa (98/18.7)*100=524km and (98/17.8)*100=550.5km. So what's your point? Even according to their own consumption figures, the car cannot travel 660 km in combined use.
@ferrariforever16 ай бұрын
@@Dqtubeyou said in your original post that "it's odd to compare EV9 with the unreleased e-5008". My point is that the wltp test has the same test parameters (acceleration rate, braking rate, top speed) applied to all EVs, so you can compared their wltp values. I am fully aware that the wltp value of a car is often different than the range in reality.
