Absolute dreamcar and my choice for sure if i had the money. 22 years ago i drove the first S8 on track invited by Audi cause i was an S-customer and already back then it was another world to drive the Big Daddy compared to the rest of the pack. I can only imagine how this new one is to drive. Great memories from that trackday coming back to now, i remember my salesman when i tried the S4, after one lap he yelled let me out...LOL And i agree with you about all the safetysystems, it's a bit to much these days and i can feel that young people today will never know how it feels to really drive a car. I learned in a Volvo Amazon here in Sweden when i was 12, it was scary but ohh so fun.

Would like to see vehicle reviewers show headlights/turn signals/fog lights, taillights on & horn sound. Looks like the armrests have a hidden storage compartment. Also, front door panels should also have the pull close interior door handles like rear door panels.

Yeah, if there is anything I do not like about this car it would be that. 😂 Do not think you and I are being too picky, especially considering what many car enthusiasts have whinged about. 😂 Even though my heart is closest to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the A8/S8 car would be a very strong contender along with the BMW 7-Series; some excellent cruisers in the sedan segment. Gosh, I want to buy these. 💕

3:18 In North America, most flagship luxury sedans come in long wheelbase as standard, so it looks normal in that configuration to me.

Fine with the looks of the long wheelbase, seeing as I’m from the USA it’s the only version we get. I guess for Americans the backseat is the biggest reason to get an a8 over an a6 or an s class over an e class and that’s why we only get the long wheelbase version of all the cars in this segment

AFAIK this press test sample has the glove compartment-mounted slim optical disc deck (from watching Matt's video review); however, Brian did not bother doing coverage on the glove compartnent, a common mistake many motor journos have made. It's good to know that the latest MIB3 infotainment system can indeed add back the ODD unit; however, many dealerships worldwide don't seem to offer this accessory to the concerned customers, and instead lie to them claiming that the ODD is not compatible with MIB3. And not just Audi, many VW branches (including Bentley) have the same problem not letting customers add back the ODD module in question.

It is obviously improved than before the facelift, but I believe that they did not reach the look of the previous model. The S8 Plus is still more beautiful. And more powerfull. So why change? I also hate the ipad in the middle of the dashboard. Especially if it is not integrated and looks like extra. Is Merc listening? Obviously not.

Brian, the Mercedes S65 AMG, the new Maserati Quattroporte Trofeo, and this new Audi S8 are all luxury cars that should have never been made. Going really fast, handling, etc. is contrary to big heavy luxury cars. I currently own the S Class, S550. I did not consider the S63 or S65 AMG version. If someone wants to haul ass, they should buy a smaller, more sporty vehicle other than something like this. In my opinion.
