I can’t believe they got rid of the centre console controls for the screen, BMW were the only one left after Audi and Mercedes went completely touch screen and now they’ve done the same. I personally hate having to only rely on touchscreen, especially whilst driving… one of the reasons I chose the 1 series!

Not a good refresh. Window trims need a chrome option. Disappointing that door ambient lighting has gone. Stripped out interior with clear cost cutting using existing tooling and mouldings but less functionality. It would have been great to have an all wheel drive option in lower spec cars. Won't part with my 118 and more money for this.

Wait..... the 120 is now also a 1.5 litre 3-cilinder engine???? The "20" used to have at least 4-cilinders.... (although this is coming from someone who still has an F30 320i, so I may be a little bit behind). Power output is fine I guess, but the sound of those 3-cilinders...... and yes, as others have said, it looks generic, not at all like a BMW. Except for the M135, I've seen it in a darker color and that looks okay. And why can't we get traditional round clocks as an option (even if they are rendered on a screen)? I despise those playstation graphics that BMW is going for these days.

My only explanation for this simple, ordinary design that is falling way behind competition is that they decided to settle for an intermediary version until the better upgrade next time! BMW should send their untalented designer over to China to get some ideas on chinese EV interiors or, if they don't have funds for that, they can just throw their designer in a Mercedes... :)) Have they looked at Mercedes CLA 2025? How are they going to keep up with that and Audi's next gen?? I am really happy with my current F40, but my heart will no longer be with BMW if they continue this shitty design! And don't get me started on the only digital controls and dash board, this 2 tablet display thrown in there and that bulky plastic over the HUD, what is that??? Jesus, Mercedes is 5 years ahead of you at the interior and you are losing your fans with the exterior as well, BMW!

it is not an ugly car but it is not an BMW either. They are not communicating with customers anymore. European OEMs are not consulting the market by organitzing Carshows. In south Germany there should be Carshows twice a year where OEMs will introduce new concepts and get the feedback from people. Instead, they spend years of development on vehicles that people don't want and then they are wondering why turn on them and buy foreign. Same with the electric vehicles, they expect people to buy them without offering people to experience the cars and interact with people. Bad marketing, all they do is to make propaganda on Facebook about how great the cars are.

It’s an absolutely brutal design. Can’t say anything positive about the exterior design. I know it’s been a joke to say BMWs looks like Kia’s in recent years but I genuinely thought it was a Kia Ceed.

What’s wrong with BMW’s design department? Even if an untalented designer gave this design proposal, who approves it in the company? This one definetely doesn’t look like a BMW. It’s something between Kia Ceed and Ford Fiesta.

Not saying newer BMWs are ugly. But I feel like they lack character and identity. Bangle era BMWs might be uglier, but even those car have its own identity which made them iconic. Trust me once you remove that badge on the newer cars and people will think it’s a KIA.

At this point bmw design is a joke. Rich people still buy it because money is nothing to them. They seem to do it simply because it is bmw it's expensive and it's a status symbol. They don't care for the looks. Balenciaga also doesn't make beautiful clothes, but they buy them anyway. No person in his right mind would consider this. I think the old ford focus looks way better.

Why no electric version? I don’t want to buy a SUV (iX1/2). So Mercedes will be the first in this class with the next electric CLA.

jsut to remind you the CLA is a coupe sedan and not a hatchback the a klasse hatchback is not a electric yet so you might have to wait till the Neue klasse version of the 1 series comes.
