Would have liked to see that in the mountains but that is too far from Ingolstadt of course.. I never like those black alloys, they always look like brake dust coated wheels... Lovely car of course but at 120 000€ it is a poor buying choice.. You could have a BMW M2 and a lightly used BMW Z4 for that 120 000€....

Agree. My wife hated the black wheels so my RS5 has glossy black optics but alternative Audi silver wheels with black trim lines. I think it looks better.

I finally saw an RS5 coupe on the road the other day, and I was incredibly impressed. The car looks so much better than comparable BMWs and Mercedes-Benz 2-doors. Too bad it isn't as powerful but costs the same money here. Though there are plenty of tuning companies that can fix that problem for less than a grand with an ecu tune.

RS5 always is a better choice. Performamce is not noticeable. 0-160 Audi is faster than rivals. BMW and Merc will catch but believe it or not, after 260kmh Audi is still faster

Thanks for your detailed review Thomas. This is a good alternative to 911 at $40000 USD cheaper and hp similar to 911S. Appreciate your comments comparing them to BMW, etc. Unfortunately, US dealers don't seem to have these on their lots, or even S5's.

Really? I have a 2018 S5 and a 2021 RS5. The new instrument panel in the 2021 (in both S and RS models) is higher resolution (both the virtual cockpit and the MMI) and the touchscreen is superior to the old MMI rotary dial, especially for apps like Car Play. My only gripe is I would have preferred a true RPM display rather than the lap timer in the head up display in the RS when in RS mode.

I love the new design of the RS5, however even the 340i sounds better than this! I personally have the old 4.2L V8 RS5 and I miss that soundtrack!

The a/s/rs5 is probably one of my favorite car designs, brand not withstanding although at this point I think I'd probably be justly called a fanboy. While this generation has definitely grown on me especially loving the shape of the tail and brake lights (leased an a5 from first year of B9) I still think the previous generation post facelift may be the best looking car overall. Just so simple and clean yet flowing, like a paradoxical precision muscle car. Ended up moving to one of the new s6s because this motor is great even if it isnt a raucous v8, especially when you slap the mild hybrid and 48v supercharger, feels incredibly smooth and powerful and when you kick open the valves in the exhaust i think it sounds really neat, no matter what trickery is involved. I like the low key stealthy feel of the sedan... I do miss that gorgeous a5 tail constantly though.

Excellent review and driving demonstration of this RS5. I currently own a 2018 S5 Sportback and thinking of moving up the ladder to the RS5 Sportback. Model year 2021. And, yes, they do get expensive, but really, why the heck not. Beautiful automobile.

Hi Thomas, not quite the beautiful car that Walter DeSilva designed a few years ago, but it still looks great. Terrific review. My favorite Audi RS model. They should have never made the 4 door version of the A5. The older ones are still selling for high dollar values in California.

i must admit with your reviews i feel like am the one doing those reviews i really love your work guys but can you please during the driving part stop showing thomas instead show his hands and other equipement when driving. eg( like only show us video from the camera you guys use mounted on the side window of the driver), we all know thomas not only him but other team members as well

450bhp for an RS5 is a disappointment. At least 520bhp would be needed. Even the 2.9 Bitrubo Alfa has 505bhp so this is WAY underpowered. Ideally 550bhp and an extra 200Nm torque. Then it'll be a match for the new M4 when released.

Best channel for car reviews no doubts, however, Thomas, if you can also include in every review of the interior if the armrest is adjustable (front/back and angle, like in VW Golf for example) it would be awesome. I feel like it's not as important for most people, but for many the armrest is crucial considering a new car. Best regards :)

3:33 tesla alignment right there. you know something audi carbon mirrors arent what they used to be, they are just carbon caps now. go look at mk2 ttrs carbon mirrors, they were FULL inside and out carbon. honestly i think they came off the veyron...

It’s a shame the infotainment system is touch-screen-only. I miss the scrolling wheel interface down by the gear shifter. It’s so much better to use when you’re driving.
