Very good review, Thomas and your team of autogefühl. I think this Cayenne is the best choice. I live in the city and electric drive is perfect for that. If you need to go outside the city you can use both..! The best of both worlds in a beautiful package. And a Cayenne Coupe? Definitely looking forward to see how it looks.

Very thorough review Thomas! VW will be bringing the Atlas cross sport PHEV next year. This would be a very interesting option for me. The Cayenne is just way too expensive but at least the design is much improved. As for the new camera angle, it's certainly better than the other side but it completely ruins the side shot. If you move the camera further back and zoom in or punch in electronically later this would solve this problem. (You could also tighten up the side shot a bit to get that POV camera out view.)

Fabulous review. I absolutely love the E-Hybrid Cayenne. I would love to see you do an in depth review of the tech available on the car, like the new Auto Park, InnoDrive and all the wonderful other tech the car can have, along with things like how far does the sunroof open and how far can the car really go on electric power, if you drove "normally", i.e. not flooring it and driving economically. Stupid as it may seem as well, I would love to see real luggage in the boot and not just oh it olds 645ltrs. Otherwise, I love your reviews.

Your review is the most in depth I've seen so far. It is thorough and well done. Since I am seriously considering purchase, I would have liked to seen more of the on screen controls as well as close ups of the driver's dashboard, especially on the left where the hybrid information is provided. My question is whether use of the on screen controls is distracting from attention to the road. Also, how use of the on screen controls compares to other EVs, such as the Tesla Model X. What I am still uncertain about is whether the combustion engine charges the battery while you drive in combustion mode and whether braking the car also charges the battery (as in the Porsche 918 Spyder) or whether the battery is charged only by plugging in. Especially useful is your analysis at the conclusion of the video about the cost trade-offs, comparisons, and advantages. Also, during the review, you mentioned alternative configurations and clarified the differences between them and your recommendation, as in the brakes, for example. Nice job. Well done. I am now a happy subscriber to your channel and will look at other reviews you have done. P.S. I also enjoyed the scenery.

No comments on PDCC and if it is worth the relatively high price tag. I think air suspension and rear steering are must and PDCC is an overkill for Cayenne. Thoughts?

When you test-drive these plug-in hybrid vehicles, I wish that you would have a camera that zooms in on the instrument panel more tightly (specifically the tachometer and each of the two screens on either side of that) to show more clearly how the electric motor and ICE are operating, together and separately. But great review, as always!

Thank you for the detailed review! The new rear of the Cayenne is a real eyecatcher 😮😍 I really like the new interior and exterior elements since the Panamera got launched 👍 The reconciliation between both engines in this very car seems to be very harmonic and performance-oriented like in the 918 Spyder 👍 But the 918 Spyder is a completely different level... I hope there will also be a V8 diesel available very soon. My absolute favorites are the Turbo / Turbo S and GTS models but the power of the "normal" S model and the e-hybrid is also enough. I am really looking forward to the Turbo S e-hybrid with the engine concept of the Panamera Turbo S e-hybrid! For me the Cayenne is the best sportscar in the luxury SUV segment 😉😍💪

I had to look this review over again. Without a doubt this it my favorite SUV in the market overall! Too bad it does not have the 2.9 turbo like the Panamera e hybrid does! Yeah the 3 liter works but "what if" is my point! Regardless, this is stil the best SUV in the market as far as I'm concerned.

Hi, one question: you were driving for a quite long time in electric mode, then you hammered the throttle - the combustion engine started, revs to 6000 rpm, obviously with cold oil temperature. I certainly hope that VW, the parent company of Porsche does not interfere with any of the fine products being made by and for it's consumers and/or the enthusiasts of all the Porsche automobiles! I recently reviewed the new Panamerana GTS and wow! The 2020 and that glorious 4 liter V8 is the standard moter in the GTS model! Granded it's not the fully tuned up motor of the top range turbo edition, but still! Porshe finially did right by the consumers and actually made the GTS model worth thr extra cost and not just some added non performance add ons. Way to go Porsche! I'd really be intrested in what Autoefuhl thinks of this added motor in the 2020 PanameraGTS?

I think a full EV version with a about 100 kWh Batterie would be very nice. I am looking for an alternative to the Model X. The EQC is only a compliance car. The e-tron - may be an alternative, but no one has really tested it already.

A superb review Thomas, you have surpassed yourself! The car? well hybrids just now are kinda silly, they are a nod by car manufacturers as they adapt to all electric. A range of 30 miles and then a thirsty petrol engine is crazy. Soon a minimum range of 50 miles in real world driving will be introduced and EV range 300+ miles. Until then I'll stick with diesel thanks!

It’s a step in the right direction but I think it would be better to go range extender than PHEV. And people really need to charge them a lot at home to make it work. Or at slower public chargers, but not block the rapid chargers that they can’t use the full speed of anyway. That’s going to continue being a big problem for full EV drivers over the next few years.

Just a quick information: The household plug is just for emergency charging. It shouldn't be used as the daily charging solution. In Germany the maximum amperage is 10A continues, but this only applys for modern installations.

Autogefühl There can be a small danger from using them for extended periods of time I think because it would be on the same circuit as the rest of the house. The wall boxes I think are always on a totally separate circuit and that also allows higher speed with no safety worries.
