@@autogefuel absolutely! And there is even more to love, from the HUD to the "SKODA" written in lights on the ground (lovely feature). Even better is the assistant, Laura, which can not only operate many features in the car (airco, massage, etc) but can also answer general knowledge questions and even tell (bad) jokes!

ah yes, chat GPT integration for Laura should be a very interesting feature for the future. Good call on getting the HUD actually, does it have the augmented reality feature?

@@autogefuel not sure what you mean about AR but I don't think so. It shows speed, road signs, navigation, lane assist and ACC status. Plus it shows the "resume control of steering" messages. 😄 That's another really nice feature: travel assist handles speed, braking and steering much better than the former model - it really is "semi-automatic driving".

yes it is very nice! just waiting for the law to catch up with the tech to have some more advanced self driving. But its quite good for now, i especially like it in traffic jams. the AR on the new VW HUD's shows you actively on lane changes and exits with arrows on the road for example, its quite nice.

I have the car for 2 months now and your review is 100% accurate in every way. Oh one slight correction. No need to put your sunglasses in the upper glove box as there is a place above your head for them. On a long run the combination of electric and petrol extends the electric range to about 200km as the car switches seamlessly between both. Had a Enyaq for over 3 years and liked it but I love this.

the Enyaq is a fantastic car, bascially everything that this Kodiaq offers, but in a full electric package. I really like this hybrid combo, its indeed seemless on the highway and offers basically everything youll ever realistically need in real life.

What about the heating? Does it have some sort of electric air heating, or it turns on the engine when you need heat in the cabin in cold climate?

@ you can turn on heat or cooling remotely on the app if you have enough battery or it’s plugged in.

Place for your sunglasses is only there with no open roof option - the car in this review had that, hence no sunglasses storage.

I'm ordering this car. I have 2 large dogs and this is perfect. 45 week delivery time. I am going PHEV sport line in graphite grey. Great overview though, you helped me decide. Could you do another review without your top on? Thanks 😉😂

They said 6 months for me. I just grabbed a pretty top shelf from a dealer 150 km away. Still the process took about 1 month due to some technicalities, although the car war there.

yeah there is often paperwork to be pushed around for the proper registration for the car etc. But 1 month still beats 6 for sure! What kinda spec did you get?

Thanks for thw review! Please could tell us what particular model this is (SE/SEL) and what additional extras you have in this Kodiaq? The only thing that disappoints me is that the SE version seems to have more standard equipment than the SEL? Lane assist, front & rear assist etc...

Skoda being subsidiary of VW, but makes better VW than VW.

Really nice car..only flaw from my view is that the hybrids dont seem to come as 4 wheel drive...which I need in winter where I live..but in the future maybe..

as far as i can tell, only the big diesel and the big petrol will come with AWD. here in NL we arent getting any, since we only get the Mhev and the Phev

Overall pretty good car, but it lacks polish in the infotainment system. UI feels unfinished like 3 different designers were putting it together without speaking. There definitely is potential for apps like Spotify, as they want to sell data plans, but there is nothing yet to spend that data on. Official Skoda Support's response to my question about secondary users in the app was to use a shared account in the app. The app itself is super weird and unresponsive. Some weirdness with sounds in interior panels, but that was fixed by the dealer under warranty. Other than that, it is a super good car, with a great range and feel.

Using phone with this car is true headeck and super super inconvenient. Cup holders are so small that such cup even do not exist

agreed, but it really depends on the positioning of the charging station. Personally i also prefer to have it in the rear cause you can then just reverse into position

yeah some charging stations really dont take into account that the chargeports are different on different cars, especially the fast-chargers with those thick heavy cables can be tricky

you are totally right. BUT here in NL there is no way around it, since the tax system punishes you so hard for having a big engine and OEM's flat out dont offer bigger engines here anymore. That said, this 204hp hybrid version is enough to live with on the day-2-day (albeit just)

Honestly it’s not that bad high 9 secs 0-60 , 36 to a gallon town , if you mix both together the 0-60 drops a couple of secs fuel climbs in mixed mode to about 65mpg equivalent on a run

very true, low temps are still not very friendly to batteries
