Well Nobby I did it and traded my 212 Enyaq 80 for the Kodiaq PHEV. I had the Enyaq for 3 years and 3 months and it never gave me an issue. I came out of a Q5 into the Enyaq and I did miss that exrtra bit of size and the more comfortable ride of the Q5. Having analysed my driving about 90% of my journeys are well less than the 100 KM of electric range promised in the Kodiaq. I did my first longish journey in it yesterday of 80km and set the car to hybrid. It switched effortlessly between the two and returned 2.4 litres of petrol per 100km and used 44 km of the 80 km range of an 80% battery charge. The build quality is every bit as good as the Q5 maybe even better and there is no comparison in the suspension and ride quality between it and the Enyaq. I’m not going to go into the depreciation of the Enyaq over that period but as I can charge at home ( I’m getting 6kw by the way ) it ticks all the boxes for me.
@NobbyOnCarsАй бұрын
Great outcome so. Yeah there’s a lot of weight in an Enyaq and that floaty feeling is not for everyone. Kodiaq is just such a solid all rounder.

Starting a new job in november and had to look at company cars in stock here in Sweden, This one and the Superb modell really surprised me. My initial thoughts was, Wow Skoda has come a long way :). Coming from a couple of Volvos and VW with the last one being a Volvo XC60 made me choose the Kodiaq, and i was lucky since they had a cancelation on a order on a black modell with a nice package in it. They also come in as a great deal on company cars for both me and the company. Here in Sweden they are basically sold out and orders on new cars will be delivered in feb/mar 2025... So im really looking forward on my first chargeable hybrid even if its a Skoda :)

Thanks for the review Nobby. As someone that has been seriously thinking of purchasing this particular version of the new Kodiaq it has been very helpful. Just wondering regarding the two features you mention are missing from this PHEV version - the integrated rear window sunshades and the integrated door protectors - is there a reason for this? Are they part of a specific package now? Also, how would you rate having the panoramic sunroof as to not having it - especially in Ireland. Thanks!

I’ve had both the Kodiaq sports line & now the Sorento PHEV, there is pros & cons to both vehicles I think you get more bang for your buck with the Kia plus AWD & the Kia is super smooth on the open road, but I think the Kodiaq has more comfortable seats & a better finish, both cars are good looking but one of the big selling points for me is the 7 year warranty, three & a half years into my Kodiaq I had a water pump issue & it cost me nearly €800 euro, this would be covered if it was a Kia , also too many options at a cost with the Skoda so overall the Sorento wins the day for me , just !

@NobbyOnCars2 ай бұрын
From revenue site “Certain Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) exemptions and discounts are available where the car made available to your employee is an electric car. Electric cars are cars that get their motive power from electricity only. Hybrid cars do not qualify as electric cars. The treatment applies to both new and used cars.” Sure they used to do grants for private motorists and everything on them - all gone. Unless I’ve interpreted it wrong in which case I stand to be corrected!

@@NobbyOnCars yes but to qualify for the lowest rate of BIK (9%), CO2 emissions must be below 49g/km which is only achievable with a plug in hybrid or a fully electric car.
