Much better representation of Ken Wallis. Other films over the years made him seem as more of a enthusiast, without mentioning his military experience and serious discussion of the autogyro. Thanks.

We spent a week-end with a car driving Cdr. Wallis around NY and down to the Pitcairn museum. He was a delightful Gentleman. We also got a bunch of flack from publishing an article written by Ken in the Popular Rotorcraft magazine which my wife was editing at the time. I still firmly believe he knew more than a lot of his detractors. He proved most of his ideas in the air. His passing creates a hole in society in general let alone in the gyrocopter community.

A Spaniard solved the rotary Wing conundrum with linkages to compensate for the relationship between drag and lift as the rotor blade slices the Air. Did I get that. That must be airfoil pitch control mechanism. Disk and Roller Universal Joint type.

Why military forces don't use these as courier aircraft is beyond me. They'd be far enough behind the lines to avoid anti-aircraft fire, and the maintenance requirements would be minimal.
