[Verse 1] You always disappoint me You do it all the time Can't you see from my face I'm the bluest blue you'll ever see It's never been my full intention To have you 'round 24/7 But for once, could you pretty please Not run out on me? [Pre-Chorus] I don't know what you're hunting It's not me, it's something else And I can't deny That I am hurting I know it's never-ever With us, we're not forever You won't be for me My hallelujah [Chorus] In the middle of the night did you think I'd be alone Waiting patiently for you to come home? I'm not the waiting kind, you can't ruin my mind I'll find somebody else to call mine [Verse 2] Can't emphasise enough how hard it’s been To know the one you love resents you It’s a sad sorry state of affairs we got going on The way we work is masochistic And all I want to do is fix it This kind of love never lasts, if it does it will kill you [Pre-Chorus] Thought I’d found a new religion In you, who was I kidding? There’s nowhere to go Except for under Quarantine, all of my spite It hurts too much to fight You’ll never be for me My hallelujah [Chorus] In the middle of the night did you think I'd be alone Waiting patiently for you to come home? I'm not the waiting kind, you can't ruin my mind I'll find somebody else to call mine In the middle of the night did you think I'd be alone Waiting patiently for you to come home? I'm not the waiting kind, you can't ruin my mind I'll find somebody else to call mine [Bridge] You raise me up, you bring me down You throw my body to the ground You stampede over me so freely And in the triumphs of a day Where I think everything’s OK You look at me so insincerely And in the mirror staring back at me, stupidity I've always been a sucker for your cruelty I've had a word with myself And for the sake of my health I'll no longer mend the unfixable [Chorus] In the middle of the night did you think I'd be alone Waiting patiently for you to come home? I'm not the waiting kind, you can't ruin my mind I'll find somebody else to call mine [Outro] In the middle of the night did you think I'd be alone Waiting patiently for you to come home? I'm not the waiting kind, you can't ruin my mind I'll find somebody else to call mine (I'm not the waiting kind, you can't ruin my mind I'm not the waiting kind) To call mine (I'm not the waiting kind The waiting kind The waiting kind) To call mine (I'm not the waiting kind, you can't ruin my mind I'm not the waiting kind) To call mine (I'm not the waiting kind The waiting kind The waiting kind)

I've always been intrigued by our ability to believe without question in wind existing by the mere fact that we can feel it on our skin, and see its effect on everything around us, even if we can't see it without it having objects and an environment in which to impact itself on. That kind of summarizes this amazing song and video for me as I try relentlessly to give someone the words to something that loses meaning the more words are needed to explain what should just be obvious; when the motivations and good intentions of expressing myself just needs to be believed as such and more than enough. It is as if to say, "I hate this situation the way it is because it's wrong..." when what you mean is, "I want to fix it, and am trying to show you by telling you how, but it's you who has all the power, and you whose vision is skewed; blind to seeing what's broken and not right despite the evidence all around you." All the other can see is an attack against their own self-righteousness in having the problem being pointed out to them, instead making the one with the insightful words that shed light... "The problem," and powerless to change the other's blinding view that gazes down upon them despite the growing enlightenment they can see all around them. The situation is hopeless, as in this video... "Kafkaesque," as overused a word as they say, no doubt similarly poignant to the gentleman's sense of his own abusive use by this company. It's traumatic... Re-traumatizing even, as the woman at the water cooler depicts in continuing to drown herself. It's as though all along the gentleman was the only one working so diligently to repair everything that everyone else kept breaking; everyone around him could look around themselves - look at themselves even - to see the harm, but they're too busy using him as a deflection and distraction for their own complacency... The mirror that they don't dare peer and take a deeper look at. Accepting all the proof of him being right would mean admitting to their own insufficient behavior... Their own risk of demise... And they don't want to risk taking the responsibility that would deem that punishment due only upon themselves; so they let him be the scapegoat, to be inflicted by all the repercussions, even if he's the last one who deserves it. The boss had it out for him from the beginning... The map and every acceptable course of action was already drawn behind him; going off it was never allowed because no one could possibly know better than the man in charge... That - outlined and underlined - is against the rules, so trying to share a different vision is always something coming at the wrong time, in the wrong place, and perceived as a threat to the one with all the power because this can only be about his time, and his place, no matter that he's drawn the blinds to the wasteful actions that if he'd just open, he would see occurring even in the room right beside him. But the gentlemen knew better and could only be motivated to do what was right, because anything else was wrong! And though his perspective always was right, he's prosecuted for sharing it because the re-visioning it would entail conflicts with everyone else's desire to do less in the shadows of that ever being seen and actually changed. Everyone else takes advantage. The gentlemen looks out the window knowingly, as if to convey the enlightenment he's experiencing beyond everyone else's blindness to the mess they are making - of his bosses acceptance of the mess he is propagating - and of his attempts to fix what they keep breaking. He's past the point of sharing his determination and care to save this disaster, no matter that it kills the boss, and himself to live in the decision that he has no choice in making. His only choice is to give up trying to do his best - on nurturing and growing his own self-respect and talents - because his best was not what anyone wanted in this place... They wanted another blind subordinate who went along with the master plan, who didn't make waves, or interrupt their complacency of the same. There's nothing left to do but suffer in his own invisibility, despite the writing being on the wall all along. It doesn't matter if we can see what's right, when no one else wants to see the truth with us at all. Progress is delayed indefinitely... Trapped in a mind that is faced with everyone else's preferred delusions. It's safer this way for them, because they can't see their damage at all until it's too late and everything falls apart, like a heart attack waiting to happen, or a vicious wind that stands still until it screams through the empty spaces as if to say... "Shut up and do what I say," or simply: "Blow me." It's safer for him to be blown away; to leave quietly, and pretend it doesn't hurt terribly to do that, because it never changed to share his vision with the people who could bring it to life. Every path is a nightmare, because the dream is made a lie by the boundaries and limitations of the truth everyone else prefers to deny. It's a cheap reality, but after waiting so long, there's nothing left to do but disappointingly pretend, hide, or let the dream die, since the only one held accountable on the line is him, even if it was everyone else who left all his desperate calls to face the truth unanswered. There's nothing left to tell anyone. Nevermind... It was all just a fantasy. I've got to go, otherwise I'll be late for work.

So everybody's wondering bout the meaning of this video, and honestly I have no idea either so let's figure it out together, shall we? So, lets start with the big, obvious stuff and work our way down. There's a business. Its disorganized and chaotic, (papers everywhere, plants growing over the building) there are employees doing nothing, (lady hanging off the water jug) and they aren't meeting demands. (Guy with ringing telephone) the guy in orange is fired and/or quits due to mistreatment. (With the nature of the song I'm leaning towards quiting) When he left, the business crumbles apart. (Choking boss) This is actually really common in small businesses. One employee ends up being the only one with any business sense, and ends up running the whole thing without recognition or reward. They pour time, energy, and their very being into a business they don't own, and then the owners get greedy and refuse to reimburse them, or think (Wrongly!) that they aren't important and they can run the business themselves. Usually this results in total collapse. There's also that one scene where two business men are rolling in money. Maybe it's a flashback to when the orange suit and the boss were younger. These types of employees were often with the business from its very start or joined very shortly after. It could be where the two were closer and the business was profitable. Edit: orange seems to be the guy in orange's influence. Most of the things in the office (finance/business strategies) are orange, as well as the orange clipboard the terrible employee throws away before solidly not doing her job and frisking around with another employee entirely in blue. Meanwhile the orange receptionist employee seems to be the only one actually working! The phone and water jug employees were also in blue. The rest of the video is harder to pin down, so I'll turn it over to y'all now!

I watched the video once and I interpreted it more as a critique of the pressure and insanity of our capitalist society, in the context of our work and desires.
@hyperfox09344 жыл бұрын
@@lovis8424 fair, fair. That does tie into mine as well, though, as that aforementioned insanity of capitalism is often the driving force behind this sort of thing. Once I have the time to do it I'll rewatch the video through that lens though, thank you for the feedback!
@lovis84244 жыл бұрын
Hyper Fox09 yeah of course our interpretations are pretty close I just thought it was an interesting viewpoint to consider, thx for the response. I am still unsure about the dances though.
