Fibroscan! You didn’t mention it in diagnostic testing… It’s actually critical and can see even early stages of scarring. I had slightly elevated liver enzymes for years my doctor was just quietly watching until I developed right flank pain for a year and he did a fibroscan suspecting a fatty liver… it came back with scarring consistent with AIH. It’s really a critical test. You’ll still need bloodwork to confirm, but a fibroscan is better than a biopsy- both for patient comfort and reliability of results.

This was very timely for me. My daughter has T1D and is now presenting with other autoimmune symptoms 11 years later. I was thinking of this, but wasn’t sure what other blood tests they would run besides the liver function panel and obviously the other routine things. She told me IgG. Makes sense why her doctor would run IgG since her CRP and ESR are elevated. She’s neg for hep C. This vid helped me visualize what might be next that has to either be ruled in or out. Thanks!
