Our government should offer rebates for hybrid and electric cars and tax exemption.
@valalpasan4155 Жыл бұрын
Electric cars are already exempted from tax, the reason why automakers can now sell EVs at reasonable prices. Unfortunately the government cannot afford to offer rebates.
@scalemodeltutor9841 Жыл бұрын
There are tax exemptions actually but it’s not significant enough to cut the price down.

@@valalpasan4155 There's already a 100% excise tax exemption. The rebate would come from 12% VAT if it would be implemented.

MG4 is selling like hotcakes in UK, Australia and NZ. MG4 has a new performance model MG4 XPower which is as quick as a GTR4 and quicker than a Lamborghini Gallardo and the Europeans went crazy about it. I hope MG can cope for the orders of the MG4

Less than 2M EVs!😊 nicely price MG4
@mindfreeze0838 Жыл бұрын
As much as these cars may not be as practical as their ICE counterparts, the price of the MG4 is in that 1.5 million sweet spot where alot of cars sit. With that said I dont suspect serious families to take on a 1.4 million hatchback when they could get the best trim of a regular MPV.

@@johnyonardpauly5601while that is true most Philippinos are going to look at the straight line comparison of the most car they can get for their budget at first. Regardless, this is the most affordable and sensible EV in the market(what family is really going to buy the Ice Cream?)

@@johnyonardpauly5601 The gas savings would take almost a decade to recoup compared to buying say a 1M Ertiga Hybrid given the price diff.
@josephcadiao5751 Жыл бұрын
@@xmarkclx you don't just argue about gas savings as it is a miniscule benefit compared to having no oil changes, reduced brake pad wear, fewer moving parts, no exhaust system, lower cooling system maintenance, high and INSTANT torque (Ertiga is slow AF), lower center of gravity (making them less prone to rollovers) and the list goes on. The only caveat is the infra we have. Releasing these 2 cars are going to be a catalyst in building more charging stations around Luzon for sure.
@mindfreeze0838 Жыл бұрын
@@josephcadiao5751 dude, the consumables on an EV vs A regular ICE car are negligible now. There is a common misconception that EV's dont need oil changes, while it is true they dont use oil, the electric motors do use fluid that does need to be changed every so often. EV's dont wear your brakes as much due to regenerative breaking but the tyres dont fare as well as EV's are typically heavier than ICE cars and often need special rubber to not only compensate for this but to keep the energy usage efficient. While you dont have a typical transmission, what you do have is a highly complex car that is alot more technical and costly to fix in terms of parts and labour, you still have a suspension system afterall. Finally electricity is not that cheap and whether your charging at home and especially when youre charging on the go(which is frought with logistical issues like broken chargers), especially in countries where governments have started pulling the tax benefits of owning a EV the cost of ownership has now gotten to the point of surpassing ICE vehicles. By the time you crunch all the numbers on owning a EV over a ICE car the cost benefits of the EV become less enticing as the large cost benefit just isnt there anymore.

Not to rain on the parade but keep your feet planted to the ground. Regardless of the make of the car, nobody in the local scenery is really asking the very important question about how safe an EV is. Case in point. Just less than 3 weeks ago, a giant shipping container filled with EV batteries for something like 40 Ionic 5 EV cars , which Tesla calls as MegaPack ( to power off grid installations a Queensland Australia green energy project) was reduced to dust as its fail safe systems (which Tesla bragged as class leading)malfunctioned causing a thermal runaway reaction that ignited the stacks of Lithium Ion battery packs. Fire fighters described the blaze as a blow torch from hell gone mad. The hellish fire kept on spewing toxic and potentially mutagenic substances for more than 24 hours contaminating the ground, air and water of a nearby town of Bouldercombe Australia. By mutagenic substances, I am referring to the chemicals from the fumes generated by the EV fire jumping inside your body to then have rough prison sex with your DNA raising the potential risks for cancers. Moreover, even after the outdoor barbecue was done, firefighters in the area were observed to be in full HAZMAT GEAR which indicates that this kind of trouble which is a class on its own has only begun.
