i mean yeah it works, but buying this i would financially never break even compared to buying ammo at the shop ... not mentioning all the work still (picking, cleaning brass etc.). I can't see myself buying it. We need a poor joes mark 7 version

I routinely go over 1000k of 9mm and 556 a week during active training season. And I’m not a competitive shooter (yet). This thing or alternative from Dillon is a no-brainer even for a personal use. Not even mentioning supplying ammo for my friends as a small business. Still beats buying ammo in bulk at current prices.

Said the same thing years ago when I got one of the first Mark7 for my Dillon 650. I figured 2 years to break even. Did it in nine months. Now upgraded to Dillon RL1100 with MK7 and the 650 is the processing machine. My wife and I are competitive shooters and I look at it as part of our sport/hobby. Have you looked at the price of playing golf or hockey? It's all relative, and not for everyone.

How does it work with winchester large primers, all these primer sorters work with small, large is the true test
@andrewdow160916 күн бұрын
works with both large and small pistol primers for me. I've not loaded rifle primers yet, so I can't comment on it.

It would be good on one of those hydraulic trolleys. So you can lower it down while it's running to make it easier to keep filled with brass. Then you can jack it up to service it and or set dies up ect.
@snowgorilla9789Ай бұрын
Welded up a simple crooked handled 2 cup scooper thingy that works great. Used a coat hanger to figure out the angles and by fluke nailed it on the first try. Don't even have to bend over to scoop the brass or bullets get it near the hopper ad rotate and it dumps.
@andrewdow160916 күн бұрын
They make mirrors for the brass feeder and Mr Buller Feeder. You can be seated and see inside each bowl, and fill when needed. Even if you couldn't see it, you'd hear them run continuously without feeding a case or a bullet, telling you that you have a problem, most likely that one is empty. Not really an issue as the brass feeder holds 12-20 cases and bullet feeder holds about 12-14, so you've got lots of time to react.

I have had my primer express on my Apex 10 for about a year and a half and still trying to figure it out, I’m mostly struggling with primers not flipping and at times just don’t what to flow down the path. I may have to look into getting the Gen 2 primer setup and getting that foil tape for the primer tray.
@rodgerbooth106420 күн бұрын
The Gen 2 is worse than the original! The system does not work with the primer express or the standard tower! Bad design and components never will work! Threw mine away! Could not take the aggravation any more!!!

I have been frozen between an Apex 10 and RL1100 for months. Just can't decide. Better case feeder and powder drop on the 1100. Everything else seems better on the Apex 10.

Better aftermarket support on the RL1100 though.

I have the 1050 with ammbot and all the immortal arms add on, I wouldn't do it again. Dillon killed the ammobot when they bought the company, aftermarket is dead. The 1050 is a pain to automate, priming system sucks, caliber change is horrible. I would go with the Mark 7. The cost saving isn't there for 9, 45, 556 maybe, investment cost is crazy now, do the math for and time investment calcs before going forward. I'm not even loading 9 anymore even with the automation. The little cost savings is not worth my time. the 650 is the work horse in my reloading room.

DO NOT BUY AN APEX 10!!!! You will lose months of your life trying to make something that has inherent design flaws work. I have 7 presses including Dillons, and tried the Apex 10. It was a massive, massive mistake. Lyman/Mark VII's tech support guys told me (on a recorded phone call) that the press has known design issues, but they continue to sell it anyway. Gavin always does these videos that are nothing more than commercials. DON'T DO IT!

It does not work!! Both original and Gen 2! Bad design, it will never work!! The primers flip with both the primer express and the supplied manual tower tube! The Gen 2 is a bit worse than the Gen 1. The Gen 2 the primers will get stuck under the Shell Plate and what a project getting that off with a primer jammed under it! Also the aluminum shoulder in the priming system gets gouged from a flipped primer and you have to sand it down to remove the gouges or primers will get stuck again, actually they will anyway! The whole thing is a bad design!! My experience was with 9mm. I finally threw the whole thing away! Got sick of loading 20 rounds and taking it apart!! I know what is wrong with it but I am not going to give them the fix after they ripped me off with a Gen 2 system and it is worse!! JUNK, not even good for a small boat Anchor!!!!!!
