Quick tip to improve farm rates. With the way this is built there's only 7 block light on the grass where the bamboo is planted, and bamboo needs a block light of 9 to grow continuously. You can improve the rates by adding another light block at the bottom of each side right behind where the bamboo is planted.

@@nathanbuenaobra141 Each block has a light level that determines a number of things that happen in the game. The block light level changes depending on the time of day, exposure to the sun, or light sources placed on/near them. You can see the light level of the block you're looking at by opening the debug screen with F3.

I've been loving all of your farms since I'm going for a medieval style and I wanted my farms to blend with my kingdom instead of building some sort of industrial district. I'm definitely going to use this towers within the walls of my kingdom so that they have a functionality rather than just being decorative. Ty, Nuvola, keep up the great work!

I was going to build something else, but an aesthetic farm for bamboo certainly can't hurt my village. The bamboo rows did looks a bit goofy and I'm glad I can get rid of them now.

Small tip. You want a higher light level, and if you replace the grass blocks with mud blocks, you no longer need the rail with a hopper minecart, as hopper can suck items through a mudblock.

If you place the bamboo on mud blocks, a hopper (directly under the mud block) can catch the items through the mud block (as it's a few pixels smaller than a full block like dirt). Good luck!

I was just going to build the standard line of observers and pistons then I spotted this. It fits perfectly into my world full of yours and aJackminecraft's builds. It's a relatively new world so this'll be a progression from mainly wood to stone and the builds will keep developing material wise as I progress through the game.

I just found you about 10 days ago. I've already built about 9 or 10 of your farms in survival. Just need to gather more material so I can build the rest. Live what your doing. I got so sick of having ugly farms. I started doing them myself with a mud farm I built a few months ago but never really did much more. I've started an entire new village and used your storage unit as my new base. It took my almost 3 hours to move everything from my old base lol. Can't wait for your next video's! I would love to see a build for a warped fungus and crimson fungus

This design is great for the new crafter in 1.21. With bamboo collecting in 4 separate barrels, you can continue the build downwards with 4 different crafters and make: sticks/ladder; bamboo blocks; bamboo planks; bamboo (regular). Or even take it a step further and have crafters making all sorts of bamboo products…

Im looking at bamboo farms to learn the functionality and statistics of bamboo, but the design is gonna be completely different. This design is BEAUTIFUL, but it offers low light for crop growth and honestly, not thay much space to grow a lot at one time. A much simpler design is to make a large platform with a hopper minecart system underneath the whole thing, with an open roof exposed to sunlight in a spawn-proofed area. Then you add a sweeping piston device that runs periodically, clothes-lining all the bamboo and putting it into the minecart system. The one im thinking of would be designed like a walled off Japanese Garden, with an ornate wall and black-tiled roof, maybe some custom trees in there as well.

Be sure to build to build the farm inside a single chunk. If part of the farm becomes unloaded it can break the minecart travel

If it is the regular stone you want the silktouch, you know you can burn the cobblestone in a furnance to get it.

Hi there, thank you! I use Complementary shaders v4.5.1 and I use a collection of texture packs (like Better Leaves and full grass blocks) which I got from Vanilla Tweaks. You can choose a variety of texturepacks there, highly recommend checking that out.

If you didn’t care about this looking like a nice tower you could build it just one blocker higher than the pistons right? And so that’s making my imagination run to think if there’s a way to fit 2 or 3 levels of bamboo in a tower of this size to increase output.

How do I keep the redstone block from powering the hopper? (This locks it so it won't flow) I placed the redstone block as show( lined up with the powered rail, but it still seems to lock my hopper. Any tips?

I found the problem. I'm actually modifying this build to work with the new crafter block to auto craft bamboo planks and my redstone clock had locked my hopper. But it's working now!

Ok, now I'm having an issue with the hopper minecart not picking up the fallen bamboo... I'm on bedrock, but I thought it should still pull the bamboo through the grass blocks? Would mud work?

It can grow 12 to 16 blocks tall, so it could go higher.

Are they on the bottom layer? If you place them 1 layer higher, this problem should not persist.

If you're going to let your bamboo plants grow that tall, aren't you better off using a single daylight sensor to harvest them all once per day instead of using a dozen observers for that purpose? And using seven more observers just to send a redstone signal down also seems really wasteful of nether quartz. With a daylight sensor, there wouldn't even be a need to send the signal down from the top of the tower as the sensor could be somewhere at ground level.
