Hello David, I have a 30 KVA generator which has no CAD, it uses ignition key for the purpose of cranking it, how can I automate this? Putting into consideration that there is no signal cable for the purpose of autostarting,, kindly waiting for your feedback

hello mr electreca , my contuctors produces a very loud humming when generator picks load during blackout, what could be the problem ?

Most likely your contactor coil is dirty, You can open it and clean the armature and iron core, the noise ll reduce signficantly.

A light company with appliances totalling to 170 Kw, what size of generator does it need interms of KVA

170 kw (load demand) lets consider Power factor of 0.80. (note most alternator manufacture consider PF of 0.80). 170/0.80= 212.5KVA, its difficult to get a gen set of that rating. These are generator sizes mentioning but few 100,150,165,200,250,300,350,350KVA 250KVA is ok but if there is possibility 300KVA is fine.

A contactor can only be WARM under normal operation but HOT under abnormal conditions like under or high voltage, contact failing to open or close when it's engaged, dust and carbon between contacts.......etc.
