Hello there, I see a few people that are wanting to correct me in the video again I was still learning at this stage and had not gone through this the test yet. Yes the psi ranges are a bit off but if you read the handbook it will explain the correct ranges: Spring Brakes: Tractor and straight truck spring brakes will come fully on when air pressure drops to a range of 20 to 45 psi (typically 20 to 30 psi) Light/Buzzer: The low pressure warning signal (buzzer, light, or flag) will generally activate when the air pressure falls between 55-75 psi, but may activate at a higher pressure (80-85 psi) if specified by the manufacturer. Static: Time for one minute. The air pressure should not drop more than: * 2 psi for single vehicles. * 3 psi for a combination of 2 vehicles. * 5 psi for a combination of 3 or more vehicles. * Important: The maximum air loss rate for a combination of 2 or more vehicles is 2 psi if the towed vehicles are not equipped with air brakes THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL THE POSITIVE COMMENTS AND NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS THOUGHT THIS RANDOM VIDEO WOULD HIT 11k VIEWS I THANK EVERYONE FOR THEIR TIME:)

For a B class for static air break leakage test is 2 psi with in 1 min I thought it was 3
@rommyoutdoors93602 жыл бұрын
Test Air Leakage Rate There are 3 tests as follows: Static Leakage Test With a basically fully-charged air system (within the effective operating range for the compressor), turn off the engine, release all brakes, and let the system settle (air gauge needle stops moving). Time for 1 minute. The air pressure should not drop more than: • 2 psi for single vehicles. • 3 psi for a combination of 2 vehicles. • 5 psi for a combination of 3 or more vehicles. Important: The maximum air loss rate for a com- bination of 2 or more vehicles is 2 psi if the towed vehicles are not equipped with air brakes. An air loss greater than those listed above, indicate a problem in the braking system and repairs are needed before operating the vehicle.

Sorry to hear that, did you take your test on a bus?
@rommyoutdoors93603 жыл бұрын
Also I’m asking if the test was taken on a bus... because there is different psi specifications for a “Class A” vs “Class B” vs “Class B Bus” .... I swear some people don’t get it that’s it’s really about how much a strict instructor you get. You gotta cover all angles.

Was taken on a class B bobtail automatic. Sorry if i came off strong. Was a little upset that the instructor was a jerk. To be told my pre trip was great. In cab was great and my brake test was great. All in the right order and i was very thorough. " next time just say no less then 55 psi.Have a nice day".

@@b1gmustang567 my instructor actually failed me for doing the static test he said it doesn't even exist I also took my test in California, Gardena to be exact
@b1gmustang5673 жыл бұрын
@@RaulRodriguez-xz1jo sorry to hear that. Doesn't exist? Instructor said they no longer do it. That he let me continue since I already started it, but he didn't fail me for it. That sucks. I guess the test is open for interpretation per instructor. Which is bull shit. I tried getting an appointment at the Gardena location as it's the closest to my home. But no luck. I had to go to the Ventura location twice. 2nd time i passed. Good thing or I would of been let go my job.

Question, for the air brake test, how is it going to pop out at 40 psi if we left it out before we started?? Or did I not understand and he popped it in??

@@Fearl3ss234 no worries. Yeah makes no sense to leave brake engaged (popped out) if you’re testing your brakes. But yes the entire test is with brakes release (pushed in) until it popped out via fanning. Thanks for watching my video I appreciate your time. Good luck! 👍🏽
