Awesome! Quick question. Do you think you’d be able to get away with using a smaller electric motor?
@danimalshouse28 күн бұрын
I think maybe 1/3HP would work but it depends on the leverage you end up with on the final design. I didn't calculate forces or torque in my creating the crusher, I just put it together and hoped it would work. Someone suggested a flywheel to me once and I thought that made a lot of sense because it would create a lot of rotational inertia for when the plunger hits the can. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Im not finish with my can crusher yet. It makes 16 cans pr minut. Thats a good tempo. I.have a gear motor and a vfd.

Good luck. Yeah, I wish mine was a little slower. You should be good.

So that's a common question that I get but no I don't. Sorry. I just made it up along the way and didn't make any notes.

Hello. I appreciate your interest and desire it's just too much to review. This project took me many hours even with 30 years of experience working with tools, machines, and concepts. I used a welder, an acetylene torch, plus multiple woodworking tools including a jointer, a planer, and a drill press. I also made two other versions before this one that were scrapped. There's just to much that I would need to do to serve as your mentor. I hope you understand and thank you for watching the video. I would encourage you to try things and learn from mistakes, that's how I got this project completed.

Hi, I'm not interested in anything more than showing the basic ideas. It was a project from years ago and I'm not looking to spend any more time on it. Sorry.
