You deserve more likes this was really a very good video I'm going to build one to be sure it works well then build three more. @@Levup_XP_Outdoors move your trigger to the top square tube under the pole holder and the latch to the bottom then your trigger would pull from bottom not top but very good idea best one i have seen the other are small

Looks like the set rod is too low... What if the line comes loose from the trigger or we forget to set the trigger line then a big fish hits the line... Will the rod slip out and go swimming? maybe put a "L" slice in the pvc so the base of the reel slides in from the side then down into the foot of the "L" cut.

+phartattack , this still needs improvement. If the reel sits close to the holder there's a chance the trigger will swing forward and hit the reel. A bottom trigger would be nice like the one on Amazon. Longer handle rods is better for this design. There is definitely a chance of losing the rod like you mentioned and your solution is probably best. Good thing is we only use it for carp fishing with at least 1oz weights. Tight lines!

Check with your state before buying or building one ? In most state , as specially the warmer state . It is illegal to have automatic pole set or bobbers of any kind ! It is definitely illegal here in Louisiana for sure !

Thank you for your warning. We only use it for carp fishing. I did not know that it is against the law. To my understanding, it's when you leave it alone and go somewhere else completely then returning to check up on it, is when it's illegal. But that's just what I heard as well.
