This is really smart. I've been trying to figure out an item sorter and a cat I know told me about this video. Well done sir, well done! It was beyond me 😂

Looks like you tinkered with this for quite a while before doing this video. Very very cool! Thank you!

Not that long before this video per say, but have a few in one of my worlds so had some experience with them. But have messed with them enough before to figure out their kinks since they can be a little temperamental, especially with their limit of 6 blocks per line and needing to run a couple times to fully sort usually. Glad you enjoyed it!

Great tutorial I'm using the medevil expansion so I'm using water wheels for power they might look good in copper mountain

Thank you muchly! And I may have to consider that, especially for decorative use in some of the lower areas especially and around the lagoons :) Was planning to add a couple mods probably here fairly soon, especially one for doors and one for moving lava I think, probably a few other odd and end decorative ones too.

Yeah, that one isnt a bad idea either. Most of the glass I am planning to use will be smokey glass, but yeah being able to chisel that could come in quite handy actually, thanks for the suggestion! And I appreciate the kind words and glad that I can help to inspire, building is contagious and so happy your enjoying it! The builds really get going towards the back end of year 3 and will say there is some fun stuff coming up with building ;)

Excellent work here. I've been afraid to try to get into automatic storage in VS. I don't even like setting it up in That Other Block Game, honestly. Sad to hear the items get vanished into a white van if you leave the area, but it's the same issue that affects automated querns, so to be expected, I guess. The only part that drives me batty is just how many freaking tubes you have to hammer out. Doing a couple? No problem. Making a hundred of them? Kill me now. >.

Haha, I love hammering out chute pieces :p Honestly one of my favorite things, second to like anvils or coke doors tbh. Tbf they are super fast, but usually need so many of them that it means a good day or so at the forge which I always look forward to. Currently smithing 3 anvils in a row speaking of :p And yeah, losing items when the chunks get unloaded can be a bit scary. Usually my auto storage systems are fairly smaller and just cover like say fuel items in one area of the forge, ingots in another, nuggets in another. Multiple smaller systems that I manually load so I am basically telling it when it can do stuff, and then I have more central dump chests that feed over to the locations of those manual input areas.

@@ToAsgaard You like hammering out plates and chutes? Where were you in my world when I needed you? :P

Oh I love it :p Granted plates I like hammering more with helve hammers, but I dont mind doing them manually either. Actually got a fair few stacks of plates going atm while I'm doing anvils, lol. Moar Lanterns! :p

@@ToAsgaard I like to rush helve hammers as soon as I can. While I like the smithing minigame, I don't like doing huge batches of the same thing. I need to vary it up or I go crazy!

I can understand that for sure. Something about a forge area, I could just stay in there for hours listening to the hammers clang and carry on

Hmm... I don't know the code behind it, but the 6 units limit looks like a momentum thing to me. The more an item went forward instead of sideways, the more likely it'll try that path next junction. And by 7 you reach the point it will always pick forward as long as that is available.

Hmmm..I think I'm a little too spoiled by modded minecraft sorting systems. I'm looking forward to seeing what you use in your current let's play.

Hehe, yeah its a bit different than sorting systems in minecraft to be sure ;p Hopefully will be setting some up during the year 3 winter maybe if I can ever escape the smith. It has my soul, chisel in hand, atm ;p
