Yeah, it’s a good aid to have. You can also hook it up to a moisture meter and automate even further if you want. Which can be useful for the hot summer days scenario.

Hi. It can pump a lot of water if you want. But it takes some tuning to get the water amount right. And for best result if you have a lot of mixed sunny/shady days, you probably wanna connect it to a soil moisture meter, which can be bought separatly.
