If I lived in a warmer country, sure 😊. But in Sweden we can get -20 degrees below freezing during the winter, and then it would die 😭.

Just curious, why did you repot it into a smaller pot? Also, did you initially use a wire to bend/manipulate the stem to get those bendy shapes?
@NordicPlantLover16 күн бұрын
I am using a smaller pot to get more of the bonsai look. And yes, I used a wire to shape it in the start. Also repotted it with an angle to get a broader look 😊.

Hi, thank you! 😊. You can prune them to promote more branches, if you want. They can slow down by doing that tho. I am afraid all my citrus from this series are dead 😵. I had troubles with pests, and didnt repot them soon enough, so some died of thirst 😬. I wanna start a new citrus series, but didnt have the time yet. Thanks for stopping by, and good luck!🍀

Nice trick 😊. Yeah, giant kidney bean 😅
@ProgressiveDiscussions5 ай бұрын
@NordicPlantLover I will remember to plant the sprouted giant kidney bean flat horizontally like you did instead of vertically. I actually got dried date fruit seeds to sprout but the plant was skinny like a jumbo Sprout and never formed a young date palm. Maybe they need a much stronger direct sun intensity? I don't have that kind of sun here in the northeastern United States.

I know this seed pretty well but I don't know the English name. It is a tree found in Ghana. Young boys used to raise mounds of sand, cover with brown paper & had 2 opposing sides who will spin the seed for competition!. Also, I remember my mum used to open the seed which contained a white powdery substance, grind is smoothly, mix it with water, boil it for about 2-3 min, then gave it to my brother whenever he had an asthma attack. For months he would never have a crisis. It's called "NTE" in the Twi language.

If you are not already watering with fertilizer, I really recommand it. If it is hard to repot because the pot gets to big to have inside, then atleast the plant gets nuteients from the fertilizer. I have a lot of avaocado plants and other green plants inside and i fertilize from spring to fall. I really like your videos!
@NordicPlantLover7 ай бұрын
Great tip. I am giving them some, and I have been leaning on doing it this way instead, but not sure if it is enough, and a bit scared of overdoing it. Do you add to every watering?
@halvmos7 ай бұрын
I use «Superba» from Nelson garden. It is actually for flowers and vegetables but works great on every plant i have. It is powder to mix with water. I use full dose in late spring and sommer, and halv in winter. I use it every time i water with no problems. But every other fertilizer for green plants is probably as good. I dont like fertilizing sticks because they need so much water to disolve. I personally think you should try it! Maybe try it out on just one plant and see.

Are your avocados affected by the radiators when they're on in the winter? I'm worried my little avocados will get dried out when the heating comes on but I don't want to move them too far from the window!
@NordicPlantLover7 ай бұрын
Yes, the hot dry air in the winter is not ideal. They often get brown dry tips on the leaves, I think it makes that worse. You can try adding an air humidifier. And you are right, they need all light they can get in the winter 😊.
