As a dub techno head who is just learning Bitwig, I’m very grateful for this tutorial. Feels like I’ve learned more from this video than I have in hours spent viewing elsewhere. Cheers!

With this approach you can even go over your current mixes, if you feel they have not enough in it.. so thats a really cool suggestion

wow brotha I'm half way through it and have learned so many tricks already. The 43mins length of the video always put me off but I'm so glad I am watching this now I have so many half finished tunes but I'm now trying to push myself to finish them and this video has so helped that tune you also made while doing this tutorial was a banger ;) thanks!!

Ha! You just made a video about the thing Ive been thinking about whilst driving to work the last couple of mornings! Using automation to open filters etc over longer time spans than you can with modulation. Nice one as always. Cheers dude!

Such a cool insight into such a 'Bitwig' specific workflow. Great way to take advantage of modulators to help bring life to automation - feels new but also blends with classic style automation. (Micro & Macro automation - really love that concept!)

Another fantastic video, thanks! I'm subscribed to many 'producers' here on YT and most of them (not naming names) are basically just synth/VST salesmen. I hope you won't end up like one too.

Great video thanks Polarity. I wish the Bitwig manual automation was a bit more 'smooth' like other DAW's. I always have a hard time grabbing the handles and getting things to the right point. It just feels like there is a lot of friction in Bitwig when comparing to Studio One for instance. They should work on making it just a little better!

Nice one! Using similar techniques with note change I managed to lay out a track with 15 channels. :) No Noise or impacts. As you said it yourself you can freely use them, maybe on breaks where drama is a lack. But in general they are not needed in this subtle way of arranging.
@Methamill Жыл бұрын
About the trance. Trance uses a lot of FX and DRAMA FX as I call them (crashes, noises, raisers) and the other one being musical sound design fx to carry on sections. This is simply because the sound design requires a lot of movement & modulation which takes up space for the classical evolving style arrangement, hence so many fx. Not to get me wrong, everything combined makes it roll really nice. :) btw it is psychedelic.

i find using the session side is the best way to make dynamic "arrangements" especially also utilising the "FREE" option in the clip automation .. and using a random modulator on "Forgiveness" in Quantise is quite good too

Bitwig automation seems to be lacking when compared to other daws. Hope they will be making some improvements to that in bitwig 5.

That comment would have been way more interesting if you gave at least one example. From watching this nothing seemed lacking to me.
@va941 Жыл бұрын
@@alpenjon ok, example, flstudio lets you create different kind of waveshapes on the automation lanes and control them in different ways.

What does it lack?
@va941Ай бұрын
Like, you cant set a exact value for the automation "nodes", that, and the curvature control is very basic.

VG

Presonus Studio One still destroys Bitwig when you start to edit automation. Of course, no modulators, but who cares when you can escalate, duplicate, copy any parameter wihout adding multiple lanes and all from the same screen. Replicating Cubase is not the way.
@starspark31519 ай бұрын
Funny and deceiveing HOW INNECESARY COMPLEX is to do the same with external instruments. Bitwig already needs some tunning. Touch automation is not possible with external plugins.

First time viewer, and I can tell just by your accent that you know some shit. Is that racist? IDK maybe? Is that stereotypical? For sure! Will is Sub? Hell yeah, I want we to learn some shit.
I'm terrible for making a static loop and thinking "Oh I'll automate it later ..." 🙄 I'll watch the rest of this 'later" ... over breakfast tomorrow . ☕🥣
