I have looked at a dozen hyper-complicated explanations of trim, relative, absolute etc. Yours is the first simple, direct, no-bullshit explanation, which let me do what I wanted in seconds! Keep up the good work. Many thanks!

How to adjust fader after automation? I mean how to change the over all volume after automation without writing into the data? Please please help 🙌🏻

Very helpful. I just have a question about relative: does relative mean that the two curves are averaged during playback? What's the use case for that?

I use some of these functions more for post-production than music.

Thanks for the excellent tutorial! I'd like to see a video on midi control usage and syncing controls to midi input. I'm only using midi keys with a mod wheel currently, which is simple enough, but I would like to upgrade to a more sophisticated controller.

Thanks for watching! That's a good idea for a tutorial. I'll keep it in mind

When I am in Read mode, and I solo a track, the automation switches to Solo, even though I am only interested in volume automation. Automation seems to be reading my parameters (plug-ins, etc.) even though I am NOT in touch mode. Very confused. Logic 10.4 Sny thoughts about what I am doing wrong?

distortiontruth Can't be sure. Would you mind sending me an email with a screenshot please? Happy to look into it for you. You can find my email in the channel page.

Unlock Your Sound I figured it out with help. It was a box checked that defaulted to automation following selections or something like that. New in 10.4.

Unlock Your Sound /A newly imagined workflow involving the new Autoselect and Cycle Through functions make it super clean and elegant to work with multiple automation parameters all directly from one visible automation lane. The new stepped automation feature is also a step in a new direction (pun intended) for rhythmically based automation, popular in many EDM and other dance music styles./

great video. How come i can't draw straight automations lines up and down. so the automation can cut off when i want it to?
@unlockyoursound7 жыл бұрын
Thanks! What are you trying to automate?

every time i try to draw a vertical line it won't let me.
@unlockyoursound7 жыл бұрын
It depends on what you are automating. If it's binary (1 or 0) you can do a straight line, otherwise you can't as you can only have one value in any given moment of time.

Is there a way to decrease the overall volume of all tracks including its automation? Is that what you would use relative for? Can't find a way to do this for all tracks when my Master output is getting too hot
@unlockyoursound7 жыл бұрын
LudwigBro Hi there. Easiest thing would be to load a gain (Audio fx -> utility -> gain) on The Master bus and turn it down with that
@MrIAmTheWalrus867 жыл бұрын
Okay thanks! I also am going to try to send all my tracks to a final bus and lower the volume of that bus, then send it to my Master with a limiter. We will see how that works, thanks for the reply!!
@unlockyoursound7 жыл бұрын
LudwigBro No worries. Keep me posted. Have you seen my gain staging video? That will really help in this scenario
