The feature that I love on my api ,is the snapshot, great for recalling a static mix,using the automation on the board more these days ,not as tweak able as in the box, but gets the job done ,sometimes less is more.

awesome vid! I've had my eye on a couple of these for my capi sumbus 32 channel ... So I can put hardware between the interface outputs on x16 and the sum bus... this thing is perfect! great stuff

Are all your channels stereo going to the SumBus? I am not clear on how to pan mono channels if the summing mixer doesn't have pan knobs. I'd like to have 16 mono channels going into my 500 modules, out the the ngLeveler, then out to the summing mixer, and then back to the DAW. But stereo processing would eat up all my modules and channels for summing.

Watching this video confirms to me that I am glad I went for automation on my api.Because if I didn't it would have cost me nearly the same amount of money when said and done.That being said cool setup

Well, if you have a 32 channel console with ability of 32 channels of automation there isn't a console by any manufacture for less than $100K. Now, if you have the smaller 16 channel mixers that may be true, even the API 1608 is $60K and the Origin has twice faders and for me is a better overall fit. to add 32 channels of automation with the NG Leveler is only 4K. So, you need to compare apples to apples when we discuss this stuff. I'll say it again for the new people that come here and are trying to learn......There is NO console on the planet with 32 faders at mix down with 32 hard preamps and EQ's AND with automation built into the desk for under $100,000. No such thing exists, period. That is just a fact. If you only can spend $50-$80K something needs to be sacrificed. Either get automation in the console but with less faders, EQ, Preamps etc..or get more like the Origin, but then you need something like the NG Leveler if you want automation.

Sorry but I am talking about my 24 channel api ,but when I do the math you have to include everything to get the job done, not just the ng levelers ,it is also wiring ,patchbay and control surface,yes in the end it is less money I agree ,but I am glad I went for the option ,and yes api'sare expensive @@MixingMusicAnalog

Not to mention I can also automate my small fader path as well ,which would also increase the cost as well ,just to be clear I am not bashing ssl,it is a great board

Reminds me of a Behringer automation box that ran through the inserts of any analog board... pre DAW days. It had send and receives to send to outboard gear. Ran via Midi, Cakewalk days. Smpte stripe on one channel.

The faders on the Origin become a second instance for volume control as they are now post ng leveler automation. It's not that you stop using them. It is that they would come to be used in a similar way to the trim automation of pro tools

Create a static mix on the console. Use the NG level to do any automation moves.

I guess you will have the same trouble if you used the 16 channels mono with that controller your using because you only have 8 faders. You will need another 8 fader controller from SSL to control all 16. Great video Dave. I appreciate it.

Nice video thanks, if you place at insert point on channel or group the NG leveller on your desk (if you have insert on group) , you can still work with you real fader I think ? :)

Awesome product. Seems to really fit in the workflow for you nicely. I saw the little THD button in the plugin. Will you be discussing that at some point as well? Wondering if it's a similar or the same circuit they have in the NG Bus comp. Thanks!
