An 8 year old tracker that's been offline for a week and you still found it, that's impressive. You really should try to upload more often, its great publicity for a great product.

@Sloth he does upload sometimes when they have thrown the tracker, generally can't upload until police investigation has finished (police was on point here going extremely out of their way to help locate it, some of his other videos they have been an hindrance, more can be said for other police areas or it was because they was idle due to c19 at the time this video was taken so over a year ago)

@@tomsixsix Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Source: the channel description. Here you go: "Automatrics Limited have created a series of videos to demonstrate the power of their unique theft recovery and asset tracking service. Their services comprise of specialized high powered GPS, GSM and RF multilayered location technologies embedded in compact self powered or wired tracker devices. These Automatrics MTrack tracker devices are covertly deployed by owners to protect a variety of vehicles, motorcycles, plant equipment, caravans or any other UK or International clients asset. These tracker systems are professionally monitored 24/7 so they can be quickly located and recovered if lost or stolen. The video's show where and how Automatrics working with the police can recover customers stolen assets even when they are hidden in the most challenging of environments, such as, underground car parks, inside shipping containers or lockups. Most interesting of all is to see the recovered asset at the end of the video which in many cases may lead to a haul of other stolen gear."

I'm really thinking you need a radio set that can indicate direction as well as signal strength. I'm sure that would reduce the time you spend following false leads. You'd need to put a different antenna on the roof of the car, mind - either a steerable loop (aircraft style) or a quad array (one at each corner). There are also ways to do this in a handheld device.
@tomsixsix2 жыл бұрын
At these wavelengths directional antennas aren't that useful, too much multipath from buildings/terrain etc
@Kromaatikse2 жыл бұрын
@@tomsixsix You might occasionally get transient false indications, true, but you'll be able to see where it more consistently comes from. It's also possible to plot bearings on a map and see where most of them coincide.

@chrislewis59212 жыл бұрын
Oh I’ve missed these! Post more yay 😀 watched every single video x
@Hill_Walker2 жыл бұрын
You know what you could do with, a drone with a directional aerial pointing down, relaying signal strength to you. Pinpoint the beacons in a jiffy. Would cover ground quickly, get rid of a lot of the RF reflections and get a look into those suspicious work yards which seem to attract keyless machinery and the sorts.
@Hill_Walker2 жыл бұрын
Also you could get some fairly simple software knocked up, which with the omni aerial, could produce a heat map which overlays Google maps. All while you drive around. Would give a clear picture and tighten the net quickly, once you've got a beacon signal.

I'm not buying the story they dropped it off to get fixed especially if he doesn't have a name and phone number. If I dropped my gator off to get work done I'd make sure the mechanic has my name and number to reach me. I'd figure you are well aware of that fact being in this line of work. It looks like the guy was getting ready to break it down for scrap and parts or trying to find a tracker. I don't know how laws in the U.K. work but here in the U.S. being in possession of stolen property of large value is a felony offense and just as serious as if you were the one caught stealing it.
