there is one adition that seems to be getting unnoticed: the ability the make the AI slower just in the rain, I find the AI in rain conditions way too fast, in my tests they were about 4 to 5 seconds slower to their time in dry conditions, wich was a bit unrealistic, for example in interlagos f1 made laps arous 1:07 to 1:09 compared to the fastest lap of the race done in the house of 1:20 there is about 10 seconds diference, so now being able to fine tune the AI specifically for rain conditions is a very liked improvement by my part

The AI in the rain was ridiculous. When it started pouring I would lose grip as well and I would desperately be trying to slide into the pits to change tires and the AI was driving on rails.

Agree totally with you on the GT3 feeling. I think the weirdness is present in other cars too, just less pronounced when there's more aero. Also agree that the LMP2s are the best in the new update.

Last weekend, in anticipation of the release of V1.6, I treated myself to a GPU upgrade (RTX3070 --> 4080 Super). Found out it was a bit too 'tight' a fit in my ATX case. So tight, in fact, that I managed to strip a couple of capacitors off the motherboard attempting to get it in... Ordered replacement capacitors, which turned up on Friday. Had some other things to do yesterday, but spent a few hours gutting my PC, removing what was left of the old caps, soldering in the replacements, making some case mods and putting it all back together this morning. The 4080 Super _just_ fits. Warily reconnected everything and powered it all back up and....success! (Phew). Downloading the new update as I type this.

yeah had to measure for the 4070ti super and order a model that would fit for the same reason.. the 4070 ti super unlike the other 4070s is actully the same board as a 4080 with same memory and memory bus and generally the same size.. got ams2 ready to set up once it arrives now that have lfm support.. normally do AC in vr for lfm but even that with some mod cars and tracks lfm uses dosnt run great in vr

I find your analysis excellent, I agree with you about GT3s, what many people forget (not you) is that there are more than just GT3s on earth, luckily... For my part, I'm currently driving a Metalmoro MRX Duratec and I'm having an incredible time in VR and I feel absolutely everything in my steering wheel, I'm so happy with this update that brings even more sensations, there are a lot of fabulous categories in AMS2, but also tons of magnificent US and European circuits, known and unknown, but also the circuits of South America, which sometimes/often are awesome. I subscribe to your channel and I don't forget the thumbs up! :)

Yeah Rieza rocked it, I tried the Audi DTM last night, What an amazing car, And the Quest 3 is banging now, Something is different, I even think I would be able to put a setting up, Yeah AMS 2 is by far the best sim in VR in my opinion, I even think people will be sticking with AMS 2 over the AC EVO, To be honest I am saying that because AMS 2 got VR locked right down, Bro since I been using the Quest 3, My skills are just getting better and better, I am learning how to be faster, Faster using the Quest 3, I will be upgrading my GPU after Xmas, I got a 12gb 3060, But I want the 16gb 4060, I can't afford a 4090, Just being real, lol, The 16gb 4060 looks like a decent GPU, Plus having a 16gb GPU for just over 400 pounds isn't that bad, As long as I can do High settings I am all good, AMS 2 will be picking more sim racers guaranteed with IMSA, Now AMS 2 needs Ferrari lol, I don't know how to do the mods thing, lol.... Oh and Lexus needs to come to AMS 2, Can you actually think what cars are not on AMS 2 that races in the IMSA, I am sure there is cars in IMSA that isn't on AMS 2?, Am I right lol.... But I can say the Audi DTM will be a huge hitter with AMS 2, It is actually pretty bad ass, You can actually feel the difference in the driving, The Audi DTM is probably the best car for everyone to drive that is, The Lambo trofeo or what ever it is is, lol, It is a horrible car to drive in my opinion where as the Lambo GT3 though is a fantastic car, Again I think everyone can drive, Another top thing the new cars are free for the weekend, People will like that touch and the prices are not just straight up utter greed, I can afford AMS 2 DLC prices, I can't AC EVO drops, I think AMS 2 will be every sim racers go too sim, Lobbies was packed last night, Don't usually see it that busy, I go on AMS 2 every night for a few hours, Helps me sleep oddly enough, A few hours at VR sim racing actually helps me sleep without violent dreams like I was before the VR sim racing, I am sure VR can help people with mental health, Another subject I might do a video on one day, Explaining how Sim Racing helped me escape the life as a drug addict, I never realized I was using drugs to escape trauma until I got off drugs, But I am sure VR and gaming can help mental health, I can't play violent games an to be honest some games that got violence in, For me is just showing or teaching people how to do these violent things, I am on the fence about Bat Man, Probably coz I can't play them And I want to see what Bat Man is like lol, I jut can't bro, I will get violent dreams and symptoms that are difficult to live with as it is, Mental illness can't be fixed like a wound can can it see, But yeah AMS 2 sim racing in VR have proper reduced the nightmares I was getting, So I am thinking of doing a n upload of the Nürburgring 24hr while explaining how Sim racing helped me to escape nearly 30 years of an addiction, I would encourage anyone who got mental health issues to try out sim racing, And use VR is possible, I don't understand or maybe there is things set up with VR being the tool that is used for dealing with mental health, Maybe there will be when VR gets bigger, The Tecno Pocket Go AR, VR controller would be a great way of getting VR out to the masses, I read that schools are now using VR in America, Brilliant idea using VR to educate, Puts fun into education, Every child deserves education as well, It sucks to hear the trumpian is going to destroy education as you know it in America, I was shocked to find out the schools don't teach kids about WW2, Travesty that is, Back onto AMS 2, lol, Yeah 1.6 has made up for the long ass wait, I only had a go with a few cars so far, I am going to jump on AMS 2 shortly, I had wisdom teeth causing pain when 1.6 was dropped on Friday, I am out of pain now so will be jumping on AMS 2 in a bit, It was nice to see the lobbies online packed last night, Stacks of online races..... I think the GT3 cars have improved massively, I would even say ACC has got some competition now with 1.6..... Sim Racing in 2025 looks to be an interesting year, Plus the 5090 will be out when AC EVO drops, I might even wait to upgrade my GPU, Until the 5090 or 50 series is released, The 40 series then will be 30 series prices right, So I am probably better off waiting until the 50 series is released, I am happy with the 12gb 3060 anyways, Enough GPU ram for the 48 size grids, lol, Still though 32 cars on one track is still a lot of cars, lol.... I am still trying to find the best settings for AMS 2 using my 3060, There is so many I no nothing about, lol, SMAA, What do that do, FXAA, I was having issues with the SMAA on, I only have FXAA on low, But is getting stuttering or freeze frame sometimes, So if anyone reading this got a 12gb 3060 at smooth play ect, Please let me know what the settings is, lol..... Yeah I can see a lot of fantastic races coming out of 1.6, I take my hat off to Rieza even if it did take a long time, lol, Rieza done well.....

If you're sold on the best ray-tracing performance go for a 4060... otherwise I would advise to go for an AMD 7900XT which is incredible price/performance combo but it's AMD so you'll have to live without raytracing in your games to save tons of FPS... I'm saying that cause these AMD cards would absolutely blow a 4060 out of the water as the 7900XT and 7900XTX are more in line with a 4080 and 4080ti... yes, the 4090 is a beautiful overkill to have but at the same time, anything of 1000$ is too much to pay and the AMD flagship GPUs are under 1000$ while giving performance that is easily more than their value in the current market of insane prices... Also, I would suggest you look into the second hand GPU market... I get all my GPUs second hand and they work wonderfully while I save easily 200-400$ to have myself a few extra beers while I marvel at the cool new graphics settings my computer can produce... 😉 And if you ask "why would anyone sell a 4080 or a 4090?", my answer is I don't know why but some people do... so look them up and most of them have them in excellent condition and it's especially good if you can find people in your area that sell cards if possible too

@@sportschool3537 thw 4070 ti super (not the normal ti or super) is slightly faster than the 7900xt.. i was gonna get one but there were a load of issues with 7000 series cards and VR, it has improved but didnt want to risk it so paid the extra money to go for the 4070 ti super to guarantee the best vr performance i can afford

@@sportschool3537 I wouldn't do AMD soz, lol, I used to produce Hip Hop, And bought an AMD PC years ago, No offence it was poop, lol, We used to use AMD though for music production PC's, I must of got a crap PC, It was an A8 if I remember right, 800 pounds as well from curry's, It put me off AMD lol, I just get on better with Intel and nVidia, My last 2 PC's ben intel and touch wood, I not had any issues, Since I put the MSI z690 Unify DDR5 motherboard in my PC, I have noticed a huge improvement in the sim racing, I never thought a DDR5 decent Motherboard would be a game changer, My last MOBO was a Gigabyte H610i, I will say the CL18 DDR4 is proper fast, But yeah I will stick with nVidia for the GPU, Yes I here people saying the AMD GPU's with more ram is the better deal, But for me as long as I gets around 70 FPS and it is smooth, I am all good, I have had my eyes on a 16gb 4060, For a while now, Though if the 50 series release do bring the prices down a bit, I will get a 4070, I ain't got a lot of moneys, So I am actually great full I have a PC with a Sim rig and VR, A lot of people are still on the TV screens, But yeah a 40 series GPU would be to have lol... ​@@sportschool3537 that is a bad advice for a Quest 3. The best performance of Quest 3 comes with VDXR when connected via Type C - Ethernet adapter using 500 Mbps H264+ codec. This beats any custom settings of Oculus Link, hands down. And AMD cards, while indeed good at raw VR performance, still have poor H264 hardware acceleration, unfortunately, and can't pull 500 Mbps with VDXR. So it's a no go for video streaming headsets really, unless you want to see distracting video compression artifacts on the track surface all the time. I've been seriously considering buying AMD for many generations and somehow they were never a good fit for me, so I'm not some kind of Nvidia fanboy and actually hate that company a lot for their monopolistic behavior. Don't really understand why FTC and DOJ are still not doing anything with Nvidia... Maybe we all need to write them a letter and this way fix prices for GPUs? For reference I'm running Quest 3 with VDXR+OpenComposite at Godlike quality with quite decent settings at stable 80 fps with my 4070 Super, so you definitely don't need a 4090 to enjoy the game - some 4080 or upcoming 5070 would be plenty. The only problem is shadows (they've been always a problem on PCars 2 engine, way too noisy without lots of costly AA), but Reiza is looking into possible solutions. For now I just drive my races without clear skies so shadows are light enough to not be noticeable.

@@Fiztex553 I don't have VR, so I don't know about VR... but a 7900XT has better performance than a 4060 BY A LOT, VR or no VR... sure it gets creamed by a 4090 and maybe way behind in VR than 4080ti but overall it's great value for money card... Anyway, I think Nvidia is the way to go for the super rich while AMD is way more value for money at the mid-tier market

I've driven Assetto Corsa Competizione a lot - over 600 hours. When they say that in Automobilista 2 cars are floating, and in ACC everything is fine - I laugh. In ACC the suspension is crap. In the ACC car the brakes are not controlled. In ACC the ABS works absolutely incorrectly and the self-braking is broken. In ACC there are a huge number of problems with physics, but the community prefers to keep quiet about it because they themselves do not really understand this, but only retell the opinions of bloggers. Bloggers, in turn, are silent, because they love ACC and do not want to lose their audience.

@@terrylu4894 About 100 hours. I learned about AMS2 not so long ago. I am tired of online, constantly changing unbalanced cars and settings. The settings in ACC are broken and work completely differently than in real life - these are the words of those who sell settings for money. Feedback in ACC is terrible. I used to think that the problem was in the T300, but with the transition to CSW 2.5 I was finally convinced that the problem is in the ACC developers. In ACC, the scripted rubberizing of the track outside the trajectory. AMS2 is not perfect, but it gives much more pleasure in everything.

Hey ! Yes try to adjust some damping in the game and in your wheelbase software. If you have fanatec wheelbase, you can adjust interpolation too. It kind of "round" some sharp forces. I'm sure there must be some similar settings on other brand

​@@SuperBoubakar I have Asetek La Prima which works awesome in AC but in AMS2 the ffb feels quite gritty. I tried every setting with no luck. If they removed this feeling ffb would be quite decent.

Great vid, thanks. I am new to this sim/game. I use VR mainly, but in DirtRally 2 an basic Assetto Corsa. But AMS2 in VR is just awesome. Just upgraded my Headset and video card, to be disappointed in the other two sims that it didn’t make a deference to the shimmering of trees, particles and shadows. AMS2 has nailed it in VR. Though Lucky i didn’t base my purchase on the Demo, as that is crap and doesn’t do this sim justice. Really enjoying AMS2, but have allot to learn and discover. It is certinly different to AC in handling. I agree every sim is different, but enjoyable. Q: Is it easy to set up race with friend and AI?

The haptic feed back is awesome ( sebring was a blast )...since the closest thing i drove to a gt3 is a 99 mustang gt, i would not know what its supposed to feel like. Re3, gt3 to be feels more planted, but at the same time a little boring. Acc....well its acc. Bottom line, if its fun, im going to play it....

It's funny to hear yet another GT3 comparison to RSS AC mods. RSS cars are in no way accurate, they miss around 50 horses on average and get the lap time up to realistic points by cracking up tyre grip which naturally just feels pleasant to drive.

is that due to the difference between the 2 gt 3 cars.. james baldwin was testing the new lum gt3s and said they were slow before he realised thay are slightly different to the world GT series cars that ACC uses.. also the AC 296 gt3 mod lfm is using is a lot of fun but that thing is defo to fast but also feels to light.. even on mod tracks where the kunos ice kerbs have been fixed the car will still spin if you throttle to hard at any thing more that a small steering angle.. it also flys in to the air when going over sausage kerbs at tracks like zolder (hate that car track combo this week lol)

Reiza have certainly smoothed many of the problems in this update , ok its not perfect but have to be thankful they are still aiming for a more complete experience ... im sure its better than the dev's just dropping AMS2 and moving on to another project , as often happens in the gaming world!

GT3s in RR are ridiculously planted? It’s the exact opposite for me, the car constantly tries to kill me, and don’t even think about going on astroturf - instant death. Having said that, at the moment AMS2 and RR give me the most fun experience from driving GT3’s.

Yeah I still don't like the physics in GT3 cars, low grip, slidy, generally unstable, especially at low speeds. While I was driving in AMS2, I kept thinking how good the RaceSim Studio GT3 cars feel in Assetto Corsa compared to this. This game is still not for me.

I love AMS2 and only play with AI. Before the release of 1.6 I had only one dream, to: “they didn't mess up anything” and of course they f🤬🤬🤬g messed up. - Optimization, from stable 60fps I now have 29-35 and strange framerates. - AI is not even a shadow of itself, boring and dumb. “AI Mistakes” is a weak joke. I set x5 and in 30min I see one situation how ai leaves the track. No fight, everyone drives like a string, gt3 cars on the straight pull pathetically behind gt5. - “Tyre wire” doesn't exist anymore, on x5 I spin spins 5min and didn't even go to 50%. Mock. How can you not test it? - “Bugs”, I set one, load another, want to turn on the map in the HUD, this one does not work. No lap records. etc. Earlier I bought almost all the DLC, I enjoy the new cars and tracks, because they are great, the driving model and FFB is fabulous. The sounds are even better. Unfortunately if Reiza doesn't fix what they broke, I'm done with Ams2 and will go back to RF2 or look for something new.

Excellent review, only one thing I disagree on is GT3s: in RF2 they're pretty mediocre all over, similarly to ACC there are too many canned effects that make them all sound & feel too similar horrible; AC's are good when you get paid mods. I guess we all love GT3s so have our preferences, for me AMS2's are as good as anything out there & better than most. Keep up the good work, I think we get more balanced views from the smaller channels, the big ones seem obsessed with click baiting :)
