The strange thing is I could teach somebody to paint. But somebody could teach me something new and how to paint better. Every painter should listen to every painter. Every day is a school day. Doesn’t matter how much you think you know or how good you are. Somebody can always give you a little more when it comes to skills and knowledge

Man, my brother and I have been watching your videos for years now and we learned to spray paint thanks to you. We mainly spray paint guitars but have done our cars too if needed, we recently sprayed the roof of my car. The clearcoat was completely peeled off when I bought it; whoever sprayed it before did a really terrible job on it. If we're ever unsure about anything we always go back to your videos. Thanks for the videos throughout all these years and the invaluable skills you've taught us!

Hey brother I been watching your videos since I started off in the trade I am now a 4th year, I just want to say thank you brother honestly what I learned in this trade was all from your videos, the past 4 years I have worked in a shop that isn’t good and only recently I have built up the guts to leave my comfortability and find a new shop, brother if I was to ever see you in real life I would love to shake your hand. You changed my life, at times where I thought of leaving the trade due to me not improving I would always come back to your videos Especially your 2 videos talking about apprenticeship in the trade and when you said 4 years in and you could not stop getting runs yet you stayed in the trade and prevailed and now your the best painter I’ve ever seen, that gave me so much hope and strength to no that if I stick it out and strive to be better I can be just like you brother, I don’t mean to sound like a cringe cunt or a pussy but I’m just speaking from the heart brother, thank you for everything bro, I have finally built up the guts to leave my comfort zone and go to a bigger and better shop I start there after the new year January 15 but honestly I’m so nervous, can you please do more videos of what your apprenticeship was like and tips aswell, I’m just trying to better myself the way you tape the car and paint and your prep is amazing I try to do it but I just can’t seem to put it all together, please if it’s not to much to ask for please can you do more videos on apprenticeship, thank you brother and you are appreciated bro

Hi Gunny, your workmate is doing a superb job laying the clear down it's very flat glossy and clean it's a shame there is the language barrier there but you both seem to cope with it well👌 I have the same problem with the 1.3CC and your mate does, if I spray the 1.3CC the same as I would with my 1.2i in my X5500 the clear ends up looking the same as his first coat quite dry and patchy so I have to slow down quite a lot which is very un Sata like🤔🤷♂ Maybe a tutorial on laying the clear with this setup would be popular mate as I've heard a few people say it's a slow gun🙏👍John UK
@miauzkater6745 Жыл бұрын
No one needs 1.3cc unless you come from Iwata or Meiji. Take your 1.2 i if the 1.3cc is too slow for you. Your result will be the same either way

Your Dane as me with apprentices, be right there with them to help, but stay out of the way and let them learn. I find it's better than the way other guys train by grabbing the gun away from the apprentice all the time, or grabbing there arm and telling them do exactly like me. Doesn't work that easy, everyone's different. The way your going and just sayen, get get that part wetter, close the film more, and let him go. I feel like least in my experience I at my apprentices learn faster that way. 👍👍

I watch this video and I’m thinking shit that looks good, but it doesn’t matter how many times I apply clearcoat I either get orange peel or drips or both, don’t get me wrong the end result is always good once I’ve sanded the panel back down with 1500 then 2000 then 2500 grit, and buffed it up, I just can’t get the perfect gun finish, I wonder if it is down to the cheap gun I’m using.

Apprentice needs to focus just a bit more on the clear when it hits the panel. That tells you to speed up, slow down, increase or decrease distance. He's a little too focused on applying the clear. Not a knock on him or anything, just a tip. Fan looks like it could be choked in a bit too.

You should start doing paint classes. You have a big platform on here. It would be a real good side hustle! I do quite a bit of little jobs and I do Tumbler cups.. and I had a clear that my local jobber recommended. It’s water white, but the shit never seemed to ever dry the stuff was baked…. Then sat in 30’c temp for a week and it was still soft. I just started using Matrix instead. Far superior…. I mostly do stuff for friends and family for basically nothing but product and I felt bad even using that clean on someone’s panel.
