I recognize that voice, the Ford man. Great job buddy, keep up the excellent work. 👍

Good job mate. As you observed the studs are a press fit. Therefore put a drop of oil or grease on before installing.

Great video! I've enjoyed your Fordtechmakuloko channel enormously, but this was a great video also. I wish I had seen this when I did the same thing on a 1997 F-150.

I like the ball joint press method. Maybe banging on the studs could damage the wheel bearing which is a lot of work.
@mikeprice83073 жыл бұрын
Idk, everyone hammers the studs out.

If a stud shows no obvious way of removal without taking the hub flange off you can get away with grinding the old stud in order to remove it and then grind away a section of the securing lip on the new stud just enough that you get a flat edge to offer up and this can give you enough room to slip the new stud in. Sounds bodgy but there is still plenty of strength on what's left that you are never going to have any issues with the stud.

Hello.....so at 7:12 point in video when mentioning splines....so those splines are NOT going into some matching grooves in the hub but rather are expanding inside smooth sided hole thereby "locking" them into place....correct? You basically stated that and I cannot see any grooves in lug holes but just for clarification.....
@BSGAutomotive4 жыл бұрын
The splines are not meant to line up to anything, you are correct.

Do you know how much larger diameter the stud knurl should be than the hole in the axle the stud is getting pressed into? Thanks

Could you have used oil or grease on the stud to help the press fit?

Putting it back I just add some washes and put the lug nut on the flat side and tighten it up with my ratchet until the back comes flush of the Bolt if you don't have a tie rod tool
