The Duramax 3.0L Diesel Is My Favorite Engine With A 10 Speed With A 3.73 Axle Ratio Which Is A Max Trailering Package. The Minimum Tow Package Is For Fuel Economy The Maximum Tow Package Will Help The Truck Go Faster.

That’s super exciting, I’m really happy for you! It was such a sweet truck to test drive, I would have done a better 0-60 but almost out of fuel by that point in the drive and running out of time lol. Thanks for watching! 🙂

Bud, I don’t know how cold it is in So ID right now but this Wednesday and Thursday morning, it’s supposed to be -5 degrees with a high of 12 degrees during the day and more snow starting today. Make sure your wifey keeps ya warm 😁

Wish you could get the big tow package with the Trailboss. It's super weird that gm will not let you get the high capacity tow in the denali, but you can get it in the high country. Love the 6'7" bed option.

It certainly is strange how that works out lol. Thanks for watching! 🙂

I think the reason GM doesn't make the max tow package available on the TrailBoss is due to the suspension. The TrailBoss has the off-road Rancho shocks, while the max tow pkg has the regular shocks, but tuned differently. Max tow also changes out the rear springs. A truck with the max tow pkg is going to ride very stiffly, while a Trail Boss is going to be very bouncy. I think GM sees that off-roading and trailering are two different use cases. You would be compromising both by mixing the max tow package with the off-road package. No idea why you can't get max tow with a Denali - GM's packaging is sometimes annoying. I had a '19 Trail Boss - I won't say it sucked for towing, but it wasn't great - it tended to porpoise a lot, and it sagged quite a bit when you hooked up the trailer (6410 lbs, 650 lb hitch weight). I now have a '23 Sierra SLT with the max tow (and the Duramax!), hoping it'll be better :)

I think your probably exactly right. Slight variations need to be made to accommodate the different hardware each truck has which is what makes its package unique and focused on a more specific purpose. I appreciate your insight and sharing your own experiences! 🙂

@Kelly Lesperance the Ranchos would be fine. I want the 9.75" axel with the 373 gearing. If worse comes to worse add a leafed or airbags

Wow, that’s Spendy. A lot of automobile manufacturers have priced themselves out of our market. I honestly don’t know how people can afford to pay those prices. Sadly here in America the middle class is fading away. The middle class have to pay for those not willing to work and those who make $500K a year or more don’t have to pay taxes on their first $250K per year. And before anyone says anything, before Biden stopped America from drilling for our own oil, I was making a 7 digit income a year… and yes we drove Toyota’s, Subaru’s and Lexus. No Rolls, BMWs, Mercedes for us. We’re just normal people.

It’s been a while since I’ve driven one of these. Hopefully some owners will comment to your question. Or you could Google or social media search the forums for this truck to hear from more owners. Best of luck, and thanks for watching! 🙂

Not a huge issue. 3.0 regen is 15 miles vs the 6l engines which require way more. Most times I only realize it happened is due to smell. Just take it on a few decent trips per month and you won't need to factor that in

Thanks for mentioning it! Upper glove box I overlooked. In retrospect I’m not sure the back seats on this model had the back rest storage, I did look on the driver side and didn’t notice the cut out or tab, but might have missed it. Was kinda rushed during this review lol. 🤦‍♂️Thanks for watching anyways and I’ll be sure to include them on the next truck! 🙂

@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 It looks like a sweet truck, but I’m too frugal to pay that much. For 60K I can put a down payment on another rental property. I have a few friends who are multi millionaire’s and one drives a 5 year old GMC pickup and another drives a Lexus RX. My aunt is a Retired State Senator (who after retirement moved to Boise), drives a Subaru. She refuses to be chauffeured around and she’s on her 2nd Subaru 😊

If you follow Dave Ramsey he suggests not to own more than half your annual income in depreciating assets with a motor in them. And the average millionaire drives a 4 year old car. That follows suit and must be the strategy for success, for many anyways.

@@AutomotiveAnonymous208 I figured you to be a Brother. 👍 We do follow Dave Ramsey. We finished building our “dream home” in September 2019. We refinanced last year at 2.9% on a 30 year fixed. We make 1 extra payment a year so we can have it paid off in 18 years. Until I bought my wife her Outback last year, she drove her Camry for 18 years. My Rav will turn 12 next month. As you know I replaced it with a 19 Forester… with BROWN interior 😂. Our pickup will turn 12 years old in May. We’re faithful in paying our tithe’s and should Father ask us for an offering, we budget for it out of our monthly income and not from our savings. Enjoy your Bud and Be Blessed !

Why do people today, think leather seats are wonderful. They're freezing in winter, and burn you in summer. They're pricy. They stink. And, they're expensive. The reason, the automakers wanted you to think they're special, and most people bought it. Ultimately, they caused an increase in price, and if you don't pay it, you get cloth seats that would have looked low rent in a base model vehicle 20 years ago. Back then, leather was quite rare in cars and trucks, because of everything I mentioned. Plus, we had beautiful, soft, inexpensive, interiors made of velour fabric, which came in multiple different colors, not just black or gray. Also, don't believe the BS about it not wearing well, or that it fades. The things they sell people today, would not have flown 20 or 30 years ago. They tried multiple times, but people refused and it went away. They, and I don't mean car makers. I mean They.

I work on location where I'm out in the elements. Sometimes I'm wet, dirty and muddy and all of the above. Having easy wipe material is better for me than cloth for that reason

@@davidzambrano9126 Nothing wrong with leather, if you want it. But there should also be a decent cloth as well.

Funny my wife said to me when she met me, why leather in your truck? now 25 years later every truck we buy, she’s say’s get what what ever you want, it just better have LEATHER.
@R777-RLM
@R777-RLM 9 ай бұрын
Leather, has always been used to increase car price, but most chose velour cloth, which doesn't need heaters or coolers, costs less, and is more inviting. Car makers started pushing leather, then lowered the quality of the cloth and told people leather's better, and like suckers, they bought it. Now, they've got people paying $80k for a pickup.@@nahbro3240

Yeah, good catch! “Do not try this at home” lol. It was definitely not the best situation that day. I have a couple other LZ0 0-60’s in a comparison and a RST review. Don’t look at the fuel gauge, it’s slightly better in those but not ideal, resulting in a bit better and less cautious run! Lol, thanks for watching! 🙂
