Great video. I just replaced the 4 camshaft position sensors on my 2016 Cadillac XTS. Now I'm getting P0016-P0019 codes all saying "Crankshaft Position - Intake/Exhaust Camshaft Position Not Plausible". Do you think the VVT solenoids need checked and possibly replaced? The only other thing I can think of is running the Crankshaft Position Relearning with a scanner since I replaced the camshaft position sensors.

Hi there, thanks for sharing your experience. I don't think VVT solenoids are faulty as they don't get faulty all together. My suggestion is to focus on crank sensor.

Great video. Does that apply to 2012 chevy traverse? I am getting voltage on the solenoid connector but only 2 volts. Have P0016 code. any suggestions?

Great video! I got a 2011 gmc Acadia 3.6L was running fine but when idling in drive it’ll die out, I replaced all 4 camshaft sensors and all 4 vvt solenoids, now it’s having a hard time to start, I replaced the crank shaft sensor, it’s still having a hard time to start, engine oil was replaced less than 100 miles ago, currently getting codes p0016, and p000B along with random misfires codes, any suggestions?

Hi there, have you considered checking the timing chain/belt? You have timing fault codes for both intake and exhaust camshafts (bank 1) that could be connected to that.

So I replaced mine a month ago, and the p0016 would not go away. I have my MOT due soon and the Engine check light would be an automatic fail. There were no symptoms, the car is running fine but still the code was there So 3 different garages insisted it was the timing chain needs replacing, which I though was odd since it ran really smooth, no rough idle, good acceleration etc Anyway today I put the old cam position sensor back on and suddenly the fault cleared. OBD II scanner could no longer detect the fault and its been off for half a day now I noticed the cyclinder part of the cam sensor was a bit stiff, ie it could barely turn around, I twisted it around a few times , not sure of this was the fix, because the fault code first appeared with the old sensor on. Not sure if the cylinder part is supposed to turn around, but the new one is very loose I am cautiously optimistic that it is fixed now

My car had a vvt code would try and turn over, sounded like it almost could. Took out vvt and tested, it either dident click or started rapidly clicking Broken? I changed the oil also recently and its full.

If VVT doesn’t not click after proper activation it’s faulty
