Keep em coming Freddie. ASL3 is becoming the Swiss Army Knife of digital modes using analog radio. Who-da thunk it? So far I've got Allstar, DMR, YSF, Skywarn Plus up and operating. I do not have an application for the autopatch but you finally helped me get that stone out of my shoe, root access to sftp (I use MobaXterm) so I can use a proper text editor on those config files. Looking forward to the EchoLink video. A video on AllTune would be nice, we need a simpler way to tune talkgroups either from a webpage or from the DTMF pad on our analog radios.

My Pleasure, Everyday I am Loving me some ASL3 More and More!!

i've been researching reverse autopatch, and since it's full duplex I assume you cannot use a simplex node; BUT if you enable vox so that the carrier will drop with a time out timer for protection to drop the call it may be practical for short and simple calls when your cell provider dies like at and t. I had vox enabled in a stanza on a brige to my freepbx device and it worked ok, had to understand the delay so saying "this is" every time I talked "fixed" that vox delay. I have a pair of 2 vhf moto's and a uhf on the way that I could make into a repeater, without a duplexer since I already have antennas I can switch on and off when I am at home using my base.

@@thebugg333 the patch for the simplex node is forthcoming. But for now calls made from the simplex node outbound will not allow the audio from the phone being called.

Outstanding videos!! Very informative!! Can you refresh my memory on how to connect/configure a SIP phone into ASL3? I did it a long time ago and can't find my reference.

Unfortunately not, I am going to do that in the future, just not there yet witht the knowledge.

Has anyone got reverse auto patch working with this configuration?
@HamRadioCrusader2 ай бұрын
Yes this one, I did a reverse auto-patch in the video. I made an outgoing call from the node and then an incoming call to the node.
@KD5ROK2 ай бұрын
@@HamRadioCrusader Okay I followed the steps in this video. I can make outgoing calls from the repeater, but incoming calls "reverse-autopatch" does not work. I am not sure what is missing.

Ok so this will not work with a simplex node I’m assuming? This would be really nice if it was able to we have repeaters linked from WV all the way to Myrtle beach SC via rf and have a couple repeaters linked via allstar node it would be nice if I could leave my node connected to the other node on the system and if anyone needed to make a 911 cal or a short call would be awesome. Wonder if there is a work around for a simple node

@@LifeinWV it works with a simplex node, but for now when calls are made from the node, the audio from the phone will not be heard. I am told this will be patched on the future

@LifeinWV3 ай бұрын
@@davidbrass2562 I had seen someone else saying that they had it working on hamvoip a few years ago it’s always had the capability but it’s just something most people don’t mess with much anymore because of cell phones. We still have auto patch on the railroad in a couple locations the old auto patch systems. It would be a neat feature you could put on a node of if I walk down the hill from my house cutting fire wood there is no cell service in many places still in WV or at least complete dead areas that I can use my radio to get out. I just have a simples node ran out to a Motorola cdm1550. Mine stays cross linked with another node that I have p25 to analog. Talk group 777 Almost Heaven WV node analog is 61117. Maybe if you have time one day link up with me and can give me info on how you got it to work. Thanks. 73s KC8PRG

bad news tried using it on mine copied the text from github link and in your video and tried calling a few numbers as a test call like my own cell number the WWV's number where i can listen to what's getting transmitted on their frequencies and zoom's number where i can join zoom sessions and listen and talk on them through phone but no luck according to the cli i kept getting everybody is congested and few other texts my guts is telling me that something in the extension file is causing it but no luck for me on using it on ASL 3

Is there a way to use the Google Voice voice over IP, which is free?
@HamRadioCrusader3 ай бұрын
@@daveborchard2019 I am not sure. Can it be configured for IAX connections?
@robertstratton64443 ай бұрын
@daveborchard2019 Not really, unfortunately while early in Google Voice's life there were open APIs and XMPP interoperability, they closed it up. To the best of my knowledge there was even only one device manufacturer with phones, analog terminal adapters and mini-PBX that could connect to GV, ObiHai, which was acquired by Polycom. I have several of their products and use them every day. The good news is that the VOIP services are super inexpensive these days if you go prepaid and per-minute.
