I literally just had this happen. The tow truck guy shut everything off, shut the doors, closed the hood, as if normal parked at home. He then locked and unlocked the doors three (3) times in a row. Then opened the door, got in, pressed the brake and it started right up. He had me shut the door and lock it as if I was at home like normal. Waited a few seconds and he had me get in as if leaving for work. It started right up! Saved me from getting bent over at the dealership!! 🎉

@@MrMartian23rd for a couple more starts it was ok… I replaced the battery as well. But I did have to replace the ‘safety city brake’ sensor.. these silly bells and whistles on these things.. but the sensor that alerts you when you’re traveling too close/stop assist went bad so the vehicle essentially wasn’t recognizing that the brake was being depressed and not allowing the vehicle to be started. It was under warranty thank goodness because I’d still be bruised from the beating my wallet would’ve took from the shop! I admire those that can get under a hood and work a wrench!!

The stater fuse is a 30am Fuze and the main relay is part#V23134-B52-X464 C215 12V -+05523 this is what is written on the main relay for the starter - Mazda 3 2006

Before trying anything else, I'd recommend trying another key as the first step, assuming you have one. My key had unlocked the doors fine but one day had a no crank. I tried our back up key (which won't unlock the doors) and the car started right up. The other key later worked normally without modification. Immobilizer issue I believe.

Question, my Mazda is doing exactly what you are saying, except it seems to start after I continue to try several times. Sometimes it starts right up. After watching the video, I’m wondering if it’s my jet that may be the problem. Any thoughts? I also would like to say thank you for all the videos you uploaded on the Mazda. Curious is it cranking or do you just hear a click? If just a click and your battery is good I would venture to look at your starter cause sometimes solenoids stick and sometimes cycling will free it up to start but if that's the case means your starter is on its way out.

My case was insane! I went through every no start trouble shooting method and it turns out there is a green piece of plastic similar in dimensions to a quarter that goes into a part of the clutch pedal bracket that presses a button on the neutral safety switch sensor when you press in the clutch. It had become brittle and broken off. I pushed in the button by hand under the dash and was able start the car with the key. I'm looking to buy another one but I can't even find the name. I think I may just use epoxy and tape to get the broken off old one back on where it's supposed to be.

The list of things to trouble shoot is much shorter in the case of "no crank", as oppossed to "no start".

My problem has to do with the ignition cylinder. Sometimes when I turn the key, the car doesn't start. BUT AFTER PLAYING WITH IT, TURNING IT HARD TO THE END, CAR STARTS RIGHT UP. Is there a fix without replacing the key and cylinder, as I don't want to have to carry two keys. Thanks Jon

Hi. I've been watching a lot of your videos on KZbin. I must say I've learned a lot from your videos. I have a 2012 Mazda CX7 that still runs perfectly. It's has about 60k miles in the meter and I love the car! But recently, the car has been consuming a lot of fuel. In fact, it's currently showing about 9.5 miles per gallon. Hey mazda guys my buddys swaped a new engine in his mazda 5 and the new one is doing this iv checked everything and it's all good but starter reley clicks when trying to crank and when i manualy jump the starter rely the starter wants to do something but won't...am going to bench test but dose this sound like it's the starter? I wouldn’t do a continuity test across a fuse without disconnecting the battery. Some of the circuits in the fuse box are still hot even though the key is switched off. The proper tool for testing fuses would be a test light. If you use a multimeter then you take the fuse out of the circuit

I'm also here with a mazda cx7 that won't crank over. I patched some wires that were corroded and it stopped draining but now this new problem is happening where I crank it and teeth catch for only a few seconds than let go and I hear a spinning whistle from the hood. My 2010 cx-9 has same issue. Battery is new and gullu charged, all lights work, tail gate opens and close, but no crank, no click. Wife drove it Monday, and yesterday didn't started. I think it doesn't want me to have a happy New Year!🤣🤣. But I ca complain, she has been a good girl for 120k miles, just a little sneeze here and there.

Thank you! Fixed! Not sure if it was a loose fuses, all fuses with two prungs tested ok. I used Ohm Metter, easier because it beeps when fuse is good. Could not figure out how to test the larger ones with 4 prongs. But any way, car stated, I'm afraid it may be the key switch.

What about a bad key that has a loose connection with the button part... I'm gonna try my other key but it does it on occasion.. same key... But yet all the lights on the dash go on.. Just did it then I turn the key off and then turned it back on the car starts... Happens every so often maybe it's a oxidized fuse or something But I think it's a loose key because my one key , sometimes comes apart

A key switch fuse. There are 2 of them. You can try swapping it out with the blower motor fuse or power window fuse to see if the car starts.

No not fixed - I’ve just gotten used to having to turn the key on and put it into neutral before I start it up. It’s likely just a buggy sensor as it is not always recognizing that the car is in park. It works about 50% of the time and I figure probably would cost more time or money to fix than is worth it. But I do have to warn people if they have to drive my car!
