great info great video, but ill recommend to diagnose or replace ignition coils, since they might b consuming excesive current stressing the coil driver, due to a coil winding or lean mixture. but been looking for this video. my scope showed me how my injector trigger from pcm disapeared but when i went to see if the coil trigger from pcm disapear too, i was not longer able to dupplicate the problem. so, im going for a pcm replacement. keep it up partner. great job

Ive got a 2004 F150, 8 cylinder triton/XL, its got a new timing chain, water pump,.etc I asked if the rest of engine was good, guy said yeah... a couple of months later I drove several hundred miles and it started idling really rough and the check engine light came on. took it in, the mechanic told me all the cylinders were misfiring and that I should replace the entire engine. I asked for other options, said no replace your engine. Called another guy, described the symptoms , he said go to a machine shop. Great video! Any advice ?

Apparently the fix worked? Now how about the info on the company/guy who repairs them? I can't stand when someone puts out only part info.! Doesn't seem like these guys even respond to comments either.

It’s fairly common with fords

A coil pack will “explode” and send a big electrical current back to the PCM/ ECM and will fry the unit.

I never heard him say anything about compression test exhaust back pressure test for plugged exhaust or any of the basic diagnostic tests before he says number one spark plug and Cole are bad

My f150 is doing some nothing very similar. You didn’t let the engine warm up with the new computer so I’m curious did that end up fixing the issue for good?

My 2014 f150 has low compression on cylinder 8. From research it seems to point to valve wear. I did an oil change with Amsoil Synthetic and added a can of engine restore. Made a HUGE difference. Im thinking about doing a valve job next, down the road. Not necessary right now because it runs really well. I have the 5.0 coyote engine.

@@anthonyschenck7076 better hope it’s the valves letting compression out and not the rings. My truck ended up being phasers but that’s super common on the junk ass 5.4’s. The 5.0 is a very good engine but also very expensive to replace

U need to show proof of the code and the symptom which u did, however u didn't show the swapnostics of the coil and spark plug. Also the electrical to the injectors or coil could be bad and Ive seen a bad cam cause a misfire the lobe was worn.

Hey people 2012 f150 5.0 ran like crap after replacing coils and plugs found bad connections on the battery cable going into the relay box in front of engine compartment. The bad connection was at the battery clamp contraption
