My BMW F11 suffers from a pretty unusual issue. I get a strong bassy noise + vibrations that resemble the way the engine works, but only in the range between 1100-1700rmps, and only when the engine/gearbox is under a load. Its feels as if the engine would run with no mounts at all, but the noise + vibrations are almost not present on gears 1,2... and the higher the gear the more it is present. Accelerating or going uphill is waking up those bassy vibrations in those specific rpms range, but going downhill or on flat freeway - no signs of it. It all began when the BMW garage did an oil service and replaced the rear differential mounting rubber (that little round one). After that I have replaced both engine mounts (oem parts), gearbox mount (replacement), the main pulley in front of the engine along with the tensioner and the belt. I have checked the injectors, air filter, DPF, changed the flexible exhaust link, checked the muffler or looked for any loose parts, joints, rubbers etc but nothing... noone has any idea anymore. My only guess now is the gearbox mount which is a replacement and not an OEM part. Any other ideas, suggestions?

I am surprised that my regular guys are saying I should take my 2011 BMW to a dealer! I bought it in 2013 with 24,000 miles on it. It’s now got 110,000. I’m a 70 year old gal, with no tools or know how, so I can’t do the work myself. Can you tell me what kind of specialty shop I need to find to take a look at this? Money is definitely an issue. As you had a failure with the main drive shaft bearing which would have caused the vibrations. The rubber rings wouldn't have been causing any vibrations in their condition. Stretching any rubber in a direction it's not intended would look worse than in its actual operational direction it's designed for. That method reminds me of a scam used by exhaust companies to sell more than what is required to a customer. Where they would apply excessive force to a exhaust pipe so it dents in an attempt to show a customer it is weak metal when it actually isn't.

Good day, a have question. @AutoRepairguys A few months ago I bought BMW 525D Xdrive 2.0L N47 160 kW, 223k (original mileage). Now I plan to change the motor chains, everything is works clearly, I don`t have specific sounds and etc. But I see that my engine and engine pipes around always have a little bit very fast vibrating. This vibrating is when engine cold and hot - always looks the same. Whats the problems can be here? Sorry if my English is not well. Thank you

I had that problem on my 2006 Charger SXT. I thought it was the transmission going out. Found out it was that coupler. My 2007 CLK350 has the same type of drive shaft couplers. My Charger reached 301K, when it needed that replaced. The CLK350 has 168K, looks fine. My 2011 Charger is an RT, with 208K, so it may be needing that soon.

respect. I have this same car and it happens that I constantly feel vibrations while driving on the highway. I changed the tires, balanced again, but the problem is there again.. I changed the cardan bearing and this hard tire, balanced the cardan but nothing.. Is it possible that this is happening because of bad shock absorbers or shock absorber salt?

@@opulence_lifestyle4407 no i got it up on a ramp at a friends garage and checked underneath. It is very common and very cheap to replace. If you put your car on a ramp you can actually visibly see it and if you see its cracked or is torn “its made of rubber” then just change it.
