The 9580A is compatible with all cars '96 or newer built for sale in the US. The Hilux is not available in the US, but it should have the same ECM/PCM as the 2003 Tacoma 3RZ-FE, which is covered by the 9580A. So choose the '03 Tacoma 3RZ-FE manually , and you should see the trouble codes. It hasn't been tested by the software engineers, so let us know how it works out! Thanks for posting.

The OBD II functionality is compatible with vehicles up to the present model year. The vehicle year selection in the tool is primarily for ABS and Code Connect information. There is an update scheduled to be released in a few weeks which will increase the vehicle model year selection to 2010.

Which scanners will troubleshoot transmissions. I took my 96 Dodge Diesel Truck to a transmission shop and the guy hooked up some sort of scanner and drove it and could tell the governor sensor / solenoid was bad?

Which scanners will troubleshoot my 2004 toyota hilux pickup the engine is 3rz-fe its an efi engine if there a pocket scanner its good till me if you has been troubleshooted a same pickup you have a tacoma with same systems .
