I was looking to get a Ferrari 458, but this is so much better I can't justify paying more for the Italian horsey. This is daily drivable, comfortable, tech rich, but also a total monster when you want it to be. It's the best of all worlds. Will likely dust most Ferrari's and Lambo's too, and then when you're done you still have some money left over for petrol and donuts. 😄

No question but to be fair one is a super car, a legendary Ferrari after all, the BMW is not in the same class. The two cars will drive and handle very differently. I likely won’t drive a 458 daily but the M3 I would. Many things to consider, perhaps a test drive of both will solidify my decision.

So you will certainly get a fine and if you are really speeding your driving license will be revoked for 1-2 months. There are also systems that monitor the distance to the vehicle in front. It is just impressive to think that a quite common family sedan with around 5-10k€ mods will pull away with a certain ease on the Autobahn on a 500k€+ limited edition supercar (and on other more recent stock supercars - that will still cost around 100k€ more). Technology has improved quite a bit. I like the fact that you can activate the 4-wheel drive to two-wheel drive and back the 4-wheel drive while the car is in motion. The way that power is planted to the ground is insane, this is like super car territory.

Blah blah blah.... There's nothing "insane" in it, because German engines have always been powerful enough for speed above 300 kmh or even 200 mph. It's only the German 250 kmh limit /155 mph, which was installed in the 1980's from all German carmakers, because of road safety reasons. If these engines would have been allowed to fully go to their absolute limit, most German performance cars would be faster than 300 kmh. It's just the limiter.

If road conditions permitted, and traffic aswell... and the limiter was removed on the car in the video (which it seems as if it was based on 206mph), then it could probably maybe hit 230 even. Maybe even 240. 750hp in an m3 is a lot. A stage X m3 (1013hp) can def hit 250hp as it's faster than a chiron even... But it would require a spoiler for high speeds.

Don't quote me on this, but I think we can thank their partnership with Toyota for part of it. The S58 is a direct descendant of the B58 engine which has undergone numerous revisions per Toyota's request and quality control were they to put it in anything carying a Toyota badge. Couple of years later, BMW comes out with it's most reliable and tunable performance engine in decades. Don't think that's a coincidence... hehe :)
