People are just wimps if they hate the grille. It's vertical (not lizard like with that step-in as on the outgoing 7) proud and err , massive. It symbolises power and dominance; which the 7 does very well.

Despite being an early critic of the enormous kidneys, I am starting to get used to it although I must state that I haven't gone out and ordered a new 7. LOL! For me, if I'm going to have a big wide gaping grille, it will still have to be one with a 3-pointed star on it. You mentioned the weight savings on this updated 7 series, but you didn't mention how much weight the battery packs on the 745Le add over say a 740Li. Would just be interesting to know. Great review even if you got left behind by that E Class Mercedes, which I assume must have been an AMG. LOL!!

I've driven this version for the past week, but man, so many electronic gadgets in the car confuse me. I'm a software engineer but even changing the radio station in middle of driving was confusing and dangerous sometimes. And hand gestures sometimes get fired up accidentally and completely change the screen lol
